  1. There's been a lot of discussion on how this past offseason went and what it means for the Jays this upcoming season. The Jays won 89 games last year and finished in the 6th Wild Card Spot last year. So now that we pretty much know what the Jays final roster will be, what are your predictions on how many games the Jays will win and where they will finish? It would be great to bump this thread to know where the most positive posters vs the most pessimist posters stood. Personally, I see this team being slightly worse than last year and finishing with 86 wins. Hard to know where that lands them in the final standings but I'd guess we finish 7th and on the outside of a wild card spot. Of course the predictions would be subject to change if the Jays make major trades before the deadline or encounter major injuries as well.
  2. Came here just to see Kirk and Vogelbach on the bases at the same time lol
  3. We've had 2 good years of what I'd consider fun baseball since and that was 2015 (2nd half) and 2016. The only year I considered fun and entertaining under the Shatkins regime truly was 2021. We didn't even make the playoffs that year because they reacted too late by letting the bullpen blow game after game.
  4. Not sure if this is correct or not but is it true that the comp pick the Jays are getting for Chappy will be after the 4th Round?
  5. This message board is my Blue Jays therapy so I can be normal in real life lol. Also, let's not pretend like I'm being negative of a franchise that has accomplished so much.
  6. Positive post alert - I like IFKs defense at 3B already lol.
  7. I think there's a chance he DHs more than we think if he hits like we've seen him do in the past. We are going to have to get creative this year to maximize this team offensively. This would mean we see Turner in the field more than we'd like but hopefully we do that in games where we're using a fly ball starter.
  8. It's gonna be very important to keep Jansen healthy this season. He has a chance to become our everyday cleanup hitter if he does. Him in a contract year might help to finally see a full year of Jansen raking.
  9. I was just responding to another person's post lol.
  10. It's a way to buy some more time before he goes out there and potentially shits the bed again. Hopefully he figures it out because I'm pulling for the guy.
  11. Don't worry... everything will improve from last year lol.
  12. I'd agree with you if the alternative wasn't IFK who is poor man's version of Chappy at 3B. Im not even sure what direction this teams going in anymore lol
  13. Don't forget about Spanky who cries anytime you say anything bad about the Jays. Very suspicious how all 3 haven't posted. I'm guessing they're working hard on fangraphs trying to justify this offseason lol.
  14. His ass should have already been fired right after the playoffs but now Shapiro has tagged himself along with Atkins if this upcoming season is a complete disaster. We are going to be coming close to 10 friggin years of them being there. Like how much time do you allow before you realize they have utterly failed on the field.
  15. Still don't understand how we go from having money for that type of extension offer to not being to get him back for what he signed for. Technically we should have been able to sign IFK and get Chappy between the difference of what he got to what he was originally offered.
  16. Our only chance to be good is if everyone who sucked bounces back and everyone who was great remains great. Sigghhhhhh
  17. We threw all that away just to sign guys who are replicates of players we already have. Some great strategy from our front office in a crucial year before Vlad/Bo decisions have to be made.
  18. Don't forget about Rodriguez. I don't know enough about the guy but he better be an absolute stud at the majors and not spending time at AAA. Teams with that type of financial restrictions should not be spending it here if it means you can't even go get bargain deals at more important positions.
  19. I'm honestly so pissed man. How do you get worse offensively when that was CLEARLY our biggest weakness this offseason. We rushed to sign KK who I actually love but clearly don't need if we're keeping Varsho. Then we sign IFK to a TWO year deal when there was no f***ing reason to do so. If you were truly in a money crunch, which you put yourself in, what a idiotic way to use your resources. Love the Jays but truly hard being a fan at times.
  20. Don't worry guys... I heard Shatkins are renovating the Florida complex. No need to worry about what the f***s happening on the field.
  21. Report: Giants, Chapman agree to 3-year, $54M deal https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2857501 You're telling me we couldn't find a way to give this deal? The IFK signing reminds me of when we signed Morales because we didn't want to wait around for Edwin for no f***ing reason. Arrgghhh
  22. Honestly I don't recall many people here by their usernames except for Spanky only because he turns everything into a nasty convo lol. I'm sure the ones who believed this would show themselves. Anyways, that was meant to be a joke because that was a tough ass play for anyone to make.
  23. Imagine people losing their minds for pointing out a clear flaw in the team and then trying to make a harmless joke about Varsho. It wasn't meant to be this serious but people acting like i was personally attacking them or their families lol.
  24. There's actually a ton of people here who thought Varsho was a vetter CF defender than KK last year so I'm not talking s***. Again, people getting defensive like im speaking about their family. Take it easy.
  25. Turner is a fine hitter but still not someone you want batting cleanup at age 39 on a world series winning team. Would be fine 5th or ideally 6th at this moment of his career but this is why we play the games. Let's see how it goes.
