    Crazy part is that we're currently at like 280M and I don't think we're a true contender unless we add another big bat to the top 4 of the lineup.

    Ya I saw some conflicting reports. Logically it makes sense for it to NOT count against the CBT if they're not on the 40 man but who knows.

    We're literally 1 big bat away from checking off everything I wanted this offseason. We'd be adding Gimenez on top of everything I alfeady thought was too outlandish to do. One of Bregman/Alonso pleeaassseeee

    I believe Pete rejected 7/157, which is like 22.5M per season. He will probably earn more per year from what's being floated around so I wouldn't say it's that big of a screw up tbh.

    The difference there was that the Orioles showed 0 interest in bringing him back. The Mets with Alonso and now the Astros with Bregman is what makes People feel like they're both likely to go back.

    I would be happy with either just because the Jays become MUCH better in the immediatate short term. Bregman is the better fit because of his defense at 3B but i'm much more confident in Alonso being good throughout his contract while I expect Bregman to fall off in his last 2 years.

    Agreed about the impact, he fits perfectly with the team. However, I wouldn't go near a 7 year deal for him but my job isn't on the line lol. Jays should just go 4 years to get Alonso than 7 years for Bregman.

    There was a rumour for us with Bregman but doesn't seem likely. Alonso is sadly gonna go back to the Mets too. Other than Roberts, can't think of an impactful bat that we could trade for. This team needs a Donaldson like move... not asking for much right lol.

    They need to get one of Alonso/Bregman preferably or someone on that level. We also need a pitcher but I'm confident in Gausman/Berrios to be good front end guys. The offense MUST get another infusion to kick Springer out of the top 4 of the order. Anything less takes all excitement away on that end. In regards to other particular names, hard to name names because we don't have an idea of who's actually available and for what price.

    Go big or go home... for Atkins it's go big or get fired. Those options will not feep the Jays afloat sadly.

    You don't disregard an entire career because of one injury riddled season. If that were the case, Jays should go trade for every player that was hurt last season based on your cost and we'd be rich with talent.

    Agreed... I think the whole idea of Springer/Kirk and others needing to rotate through the DH slot has to die. Practically everyone aside from Bo/Vlad should sit during their days off from the field as they aren't good enough hitters. We should have 0 issues with Vlad/Alonso/Santandar mainly rotating through the DH spot.

    This has nothing to do with the Jays but f*** the Cheifs... refs completely screwed the Bills on those 2 challenges.

    Signing a starter adds Rodriguez to the bullpen depth and I think that should be good enough, assuming Hoffman is ready to become our closer.

    I think it would have to be either or. I'm sure they're selling Alonso on Vlad playing some 3B so he can play some 1B. No one wants to be a full time DH at that age when still trying to seek big dollars.
