That is a massive blow to the Astros losing Tucker and potentially Bregman in one off-season. The amount of high end talent that franchise has developed is crazy.

You're a f***ing idiot if you can't judge the Jays current roster situation before committing a s*** load of money lol. Jays should not be catering to people who didn't understand when committing. Make the best damn decision for the current and future interests of the organization. Winning is what helps build the brand. Lying to your fans about things most people can see is what gets you in the current shape of our organization where no one knows wtf is going on from top down with Shatkins and our best players on their last year(s) of their deal.

Letting Bo/Vlad walk should get you barred from any important baseball positions ever again. Shatkins have known about this day for years now so either sign them to extensions based on something you're comfortable with or trade them right now to kickoff the rebuild. The problem is that we're currently in between doing both things horribly.

We also traded him and indirectly blamed him/Gurriel for the lack of a serious clubhouse as to why we weren't doing better. Then the Jays didn't want to give him a better deal last year after a down season when they of all teams should know what he's capable of. I want Teo more than most here as I was mentioning all last off-season to go get him. I truly think he will make the Jays severely overpay for him to choose us over the Dodgers. This time he's the one with leverage and I'm sure he'll use all of it.

Think about the money this franchise could have saved if they signed Teo last year and Vlad to an extension before Soto signed. The money saved there probably could have almost paid Bo just with that lol.

That is more likely at this stage. Vlad will replace Muncy at 3B next year and Freeman at 1B once he retires lol.

Can someone tell me the benefit of passing? Wouldn't you just take a swing on someone and hope they're better than you thought and worst case, they just go back to the team and you lose nothing?

Sign him up if his value is low. Let him split 1B/DH duties with Vlad with the occasional 3B game for Vlad when someone else needs thr DH spot.

Can't say never when he did just 2 years ago. Just add him to the list with Kirk/Varsho of who we're hoping can "rediscover" their bat lol.

Agreed but we all know Bo isn't shifting to 2B during his contract year of all seasons. He'll get traded before that happens with the Jays. For a fanbase to unanimously hate the trade as much as the Indians fans do must say something about the kid.

This might be the first time we've ever agreed. Note the time and day lol. Seriously, if the Jays aren't firing Shatkins then we know they're not rebuilding this off-season. It is extremely hard to try to plug every hole through free agency. It's most likely going to backfire but if Rogers is opening up their wallets even more then let's see how far they'll go. Needs remaining to me are - 2 top 4 bats, SP4 and Closer Scrap yard - Lefty reliever and backup catcher

Ohh... I'm just speaking based on the position we're in. If it were up to me, I would have fired Shatkins last year after the Berrios f*** up. These guys are not rebuilding in their lameduck season so I'm just giving you the type of players we need to be competitive. It's literally by spending like 75M this off-season and that doesn't even include whatever we're doing with Bo/Vladdy going forward. This is Rogers stupidity of even letting it get this far but here we are.

If it makes anyone feel better, the Indians Reddit is going bonkers and are so pissed at this trade. I think it's clear if the Jays can add offense then it could be a home run trade but does this front office even recognize offense is a problem lol
