    WAR needs to get fixed if Arraez is only considered a 1 WAR player. Yes, I get he doesn't provide much else but the skill he has is the best in baseball. That has to provide more value considering the number of players ahead of him. Also, we thought the Padres needed to slash payroll last year and that really didn't happen. Let's see if it happens this year.

    It's obvious isn't it? Ohtani eventually gets his money while allowing the Dodgers to stack up their team during his playing career. It's a win/win.

    The conversation isn't whether Soto is good or not, it's whether adding him while not being able to upgrade the team on multiple other fronts is good enough. We had Jose/Edwin for years and couldn't win crap until we put a complete full team around them with Donaldson, Martin, Tulo, bullpen etc. Don't get me wrong though, I'd be one of the first to get a Soto jersey... This team just has far too many years holes, which we know isn't going to get patched up with our farm system.

    So would a lot of the tier 2 free agents like Adamas, Teo, etc. I'm totally in the side of using the money spent on Soto on those level players instead. Soto's gonna be a 50M per season DH in about 5 years. This guy ain't Ohtani who was projected to be a stud on both sides of the ball. Seeing 660M thrown around as a starting point for him is dumb imo.

    If we can't get Soto then it's amazing to get him out of our division. Only downside is that the Yankees will probably outbid us on all the tier 2 free agents we'd want.

    Let's not act like Jones has fought much either. It was 2 rusty guys at the end of their careers but one is the true GOAT who just can't be beat by anyone.

    Ya it would be pretty stupid to spend that money much longer term and then leave all other holes such as the bullpen and one more hitter at 2B/3B.

    Manny Ramirez was a frigging stud lol. I have always stated that I believed in Vlad but also don't trust fattys. Guys that don't show true commitment to their bodies and only start when there's a big payday on the line are scary to forecast longterm. I'd only give him a 10 year deal if there were some weight clauses like Zion's does in the NBA. The decisions need to be made whether he and Bo stay long term with the franchise like yesterday. You can't let them enter the season without an extension.

    We know how this front office works. I truly feel they lowballed him in the first offer, which is fine and all, as long as they comeback and pay him Devers money.

    I actually talked to a few folks in the Jays organization for a potential job during covid but the pay was a massive issue. They pay knowing many folks want to be part of the organization. Sucks because it would have been a dream.

    Not happy with the list. A lot of folks I wanted on this team potentially made the list that I wasn't sure would. Now they've become slightly less desirable.

    The whole AL sucked ass this year. There were like 5/6 national league teams that would be favored to beat every AL team in the playoffs imo.

    I remember so many people laughing at Stanton and thinking he should have been DFA'd. Probably the same people who wanted to get rid of Vlad for a bag of peanuts lol. Kudos to him to shoving it to all the haters.
