    The contract we gave him was on par with what they gave O'Neill in present day value. They clearly didn't want him back that bad but their stupidity is our gain!

    This part makes sense if Gimenez can actually get on base so depends on whether we get 2022 version vs 2023/2024. 2023/2024 version just becomes a rally killer and I'd rather have Kirk hit cleanup even if it means having 2 slow guys back to back.

    This is the only time of the year where it's exciting as hell. There's enough season left to complain about Gimenez being our cleanup hitter but not today buddy lol.

    It was a damn example... rather than focusing on managing the asset being a Shatkins problem, the same people want to focus on the wrong thing here. No one's saying the Jays should get the same value for Soto, it's that they should get what the market dictates if they believe they're so far apart. Now with what Shapiro has said recently, he thinks they're "close" and will get it done. The Jays aren't about to throw 500M or so at Vladdy for nothing.
