  1. Should we look that no extension was worked out as a bad sign or no sign? Trying to adjust a panic meter for a friend lol
  2. I agree with you... we can't even overpay him vs the Dodgers either. Just posting because of his latest tweet. I'm sure I'll get flamed for it but whatever lol
  3. Please don't shoot me... just posting what I see loll
  4. Are we just setting ourselves up for disappointment again? (Editor's note: if you hear any mention of an airplane and/or flight to Toronto, turn away from your screen and save yourself). Scott Mitchell is hearing "all-in" when it comes to the Blue Jays and Japanese phenom Roki Sasaki. At some point, a Japanese player is going to have to choose a team other than the Los Angeles Dodgers and when that happens, why not the Blue Jays?

  6. Seems like we're purposely keeping the fatties waiting. Longer they wait, better chance they get hungry and sign whatever the Jays propose lol
  7. Offense gets paid more because it is a valued more, which is why I prefer WAR to weigh defensive/offensive contributions differently. If they were the same then a guy like Ryan Goins would have lasted a lot longer. Maybe if MLB had a "designated fielder" option like the "designated hitter" then they'd be a lot more comparable. In regards to Gimenez, If he's the "Varsho of the infield" then he needs to play the hardest spot in the infield at SS to truly maximize team results. I won't pretend to have seen him enough to make that determination but he's locked in for like 5/6 years so it should be a no-brainer.
  8. Of course I don't... majority of the things we discuss on this board are things we have no clue about. Comments are made from everyones own perception and what they felt should have been done. What we do know are the results that this team has achieved though. Some people stay quiet and then use hindsight to formulate their thoughts while some proactively like to call out what they perceive as "stupid." To me, there should always be a strategy before going into a game BUT you should also be able to pivot from said strategy based on the results you are seeing on the field. It's this gap that me and many other Blue Jays had an issue with in these instances.
  9. Wild that Gimenez would be leading our team in WAR. Either WAR is flawed or the player salaries don't make sense. Vlad wants 450M while people are pitching about Gimenez earning 105M lol. My 2 cents, defensive WAR needs to be weighed differently than offensive WAR.
  10. Bringing in AJ Cole was PART of the baseball strategy. When you take out pitchers who are already performing well, you are relying on other pitchers who you have no clue will perform on that day. The Jays have managed their teams like they've had elite bullpens like the Rays when we know the actual reality. Treating players like they're robots is part of the problem. If you've ever played a sport on any level, you know there are days you feel great and days you feel crappy, Jays have not incorporated this into their logic.
  11. But this team also did the same idiotic thing in 2020 against the Rays when Montoyo was Manager. It definitely seems like an organizational strategy than Schnieder doing something stupid like that alone. Don't get how communication is this hard throughout your organization to your key personnel.
  12. I'm curious but have our people ever been right about anything?
  13. Went from no 1st baseman has cracked the 300M mark to him wanting 450M in a matter of months. Just get a haul from the Mets and sign Alonso for a third of that. There are so many ways to make this team a contender with or without Vlad. Let's get the show on the road already.
  14. This franchise should have started panicking after the Berrios fiasco... the fact we've kept the status quo from then until now is exactly why we're the laughing stock of the league. The move should have happened before this off-season started to give a fresh look to Vlad/Bo and the rest of baseball. Rogers is so braindead that they couldn't figure this out...
  15. Just connecting the dots between all the reports of us being "in" on guys is what I've been assuming... Jays call most free agents to say let them know they are interested at dollar store prices. Nothing wrong with the approach but I'm sure it probably pisses agents off after a few times. Ah well lol
  16. Ya I was more than happy with the pivot at the deadline. Heck, I still see a path for this off-season to be a success but A LOT of things need to happen pretty quickly for that to happen, just gotta open the chequebook.
  17. My comment was more of a joke but you'll obviously have people who support Shatkins give them the benefit of the doubt while people who hate them won't. This isn't a big issue to me. We got much bigger concerns to worry about than trading Bassitt at the deadline vs now lol.
  18. We go by results on the new board. Excuse making has died with the old board :)
  19. Kinda wish Burnes went to San Fran so it would have taken them out of free agency for everyone else. Arizona wasn't signing anyone anyways man lol.
  20. Literally everything I've read from this account has seemed very logical and interesting. It seems like the Jays don't want to go past 4 years so maybe they've increased it from 82M to 90M during that time. If so, not sure if like that approach since hes only 30 years old. I'd prefer to add the extra year if it means the AAV is lower.
  21. Welcome to the board new guys... don't let these old timers bully you. I've been here for like 5 years and seen many come and go because of it. Stay strong lol.
  22. You need to press 'Enter' to skip a line after you insert the URL, the link will show itself after that.
  23. As has been reported previously, the Blue Jays made a formal offer to outfielder Anthony Santander. Details of the deal are not known but Santander was seeking five years earlier in the offseason while fellow corner outfielder Teoscar Hernandez, a similar player in many ways, signed in Los Angeles for only three seasons. How much are the Jays and Santander off? Hard to say but it wouldn't be surprising to find out that the disagreement is over years more than dollars per year. View full rumor
