  1. They need to get one of Alonso/Bregman preferably or someone on that level. We also need a pitcher but I'm confident in Gausman/Berrios to be good front end guys. The offense MUST get another infusion to kick Springer out of the top 4 of the order. Anything less takes all excitement away on that end. In regards to other particular names, hard to name names because we don't have an idea of who's actually available and for what price.
  2. Go big or go home... for Atkins it's go big or get fired. Those options will not feep the Jays afloat sadly.
  3. You don't disregard an entire career because of one injury riddled season. If that were the case, Jays should go trade for every player that was hurt last season based on your cost and we'd be rich with talent.
  4. Agreed... I think the whole idea of Springer/Kirk and others needing to rotate through the DH slot has to die. Practically everyone aside from Bo/Vlad should sit during their days off from the field as they aren't good enough hitters. We should have 0 issues with Vlad/Alonso/Santandar mainly rotating through the DH spot.
  5. This has nothing to do with the Jays but f*** the Cheifs... refs completely screwed the Bills on those 2 challenges.
  6. Signing a starter adds Rodriguez to the bullpen depth and I think that should be good enough, assuming Hoffman is ready to become our closer.
  7. I think it would have to be either or. I'm sure they're selling Alonso on Vlad playing some 3B so he can play some 1B. No one wants to be a full time DH at that age when still trying to seek big dollars.
  8. Things change throughout free agency as teams spend their resources elsewhere. Houston was out and is now back in and apparently still has their offer on the table. Stop being the post police because clearly no one gives a cares about your whining dude, the news cycle continue in the off-season.
  9. Altuve is not moving to the outfield at age 36 or however hold he is lol.
  10. Anything to add instead of just crying all the time about me posting news I see?
  11. Going to guess the Astros freeing up money by trading Pressly is a precursor to bringing him back? Then they'll also need to trade Peredes most likely.
  12. The Tigers, Houston Astros, Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox are in the hunt to sign Bregman, who has a six-year, $156 million offer from the Astros on the table. The Astros have been trying to shed payroll to keep Bregman, will any other teams step up and beat their offer? https://www.freep.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2025/01/26/detroit-tigers-alex-bregman-rumors-tarik-skubal-jack-flaherty/77957308007/

  14. 0 chance Bregman is still being offered that. I believe he rejected 6/152 or something from the Astros before free agency started. If he were being offered that at this stage then he would have taken it. My guess is 5 x 25 and I'd take Bregman on that over Alonso but I'd also be super happy with Alonso.
  15. Will hold you to it or we're coming for you lol.
  16. Can't blame him... we hope to get the same luxury if Vlad hits free agency lol.
  17. Then why do we even talk on this messageboard, let's just sign off on everything they do... And I'll choose to trust a front office that isn't universally laughed at and on the verge of being fired lol.
  18. And I disagree with that approach if that one dimension is what your team needs. Like I said, teams are undervaluing what having a good to great number 3/4 hitter means. This team just traded for a one dimensional 2nd baseman on a 6/100M deal and I'd argue this team needs a middle of the bat player more than it needs a defensive 2nd baseman. Now if he plays SS, it's a different story.
  19. Didn't seem to hurt Semien's contract or Vlads MVP votes where he would have won if not for Ohtani in 2021.
  20. For sure but it's not like there are teams beating down his door to make a much better offer. I'm baffled by the small numbers being presented at this stage. Teams are undervaluing what it means to have a solidified number 3/4 hitter on your team. The Jays did it with Teo and now the Mets will regret it with Pete if he leaves.
  21. I'd join you only in that scenario too

  23. I know... I just tweaked your idea into something better if we were to trade Bo lol.
  24. If you're trading Bo then go sign Bregman and we probably don't even skip a beat. Also Gimenez's main selling point is defense so he better be playing SS and let Wagner/Clement fight for 2B. Still so many questions with the roster that all begin with Vlads/Bo's extension.
