  1. Kirk could have at least tried to make a normal tag on that play... probably requires too much athleticism lol
  2. My boy Straw continues to show he should be playing more!!
  3. When you build your team a certain way...
  4. And that's why you're a DH Santandar...
  5. But these are the Blue Jays so we will get 3 max lol
  6. Terrible blocking job by Kirk there.
  7. It was still a great deal in hindsight... just a remark that none of the guys are looking too promising at the moment. Hope they turn it around for our sake.
  8. This applies to Wagner too. Both give you mediocre defense with a noodle bat. Positive is that both have been working the pitchers well but just not coming through with results, which is what matters in the big leagues for a team in "win now" mode.
  9. Pitching/defense always has gotta be near perfect... offense gives this team very little margin.
  10. Straw has been extremely useful every time he's played. Impressed with him given what we were expecting.
  11. Astros may have known all the guys they gave us for Kikuchi would never become true major leaguers. Those f***ers lol.
  12. Gonna take 3 hits to score a run... let's get it done!
  13. https://www.reddit.com/r/Torontobluejays/s/kMOvuW9hyf Picture shows Vladdy did tag up
  14. How about you just develop some power from the minors if having a top 5 payroll is too hard to do it. Only been here for 10 years and the best we got for that is the guy AA brought into the organization lol
  15. It's been 3 seasons with the same issues so I do think this front office hasn't prioritized power as much as other things. Jays have a top 5 payroll in baseball so with that, you would think it's as easy as spending on it. Please don't make it sound like we're on some Tampa Bay Rays budget lol.
  16. I actually think WAR might be the best advanced statistic created but it still has some flaws. It's mainly overvaluing defensive WAR or underrating power imo but it's still a great metric. And you clearly haven't been reading my posts as I was hard on the Alonso bandwagon all offseason. It was exactly what this team needed from an offensive standpoint. I've said countless times, any player who is willing to accept a pillow contract is a guy id be willing to "overpay" on a longterm deal. It's also why I cried over not bringing Teo back before lol.
  17. We've been over this... WAR isn't the best indicator of what a player should earn because if that was the case then Gimenez/Varsho would be earning very similar money to Vlad. There is a premium on what players like Alonso/Vlad provide and that is why they will earn more than guys like Gimenez/Varsho. So either the entire MLB has dumb front offices who pay more for these players or WAR doesn't correctly articulate a players impact on a team...
  18. Ya, this roster doesn't have many options considering all our lefties are mediocre hitters. I was screaming for this team to prioritize hitting for a reason because it'll hold us back in the longrun. All the pressure goes to the starting staff and we get to nitpick Schneider's bullpen decisions yet again.
  19. Alonso is looking GREAT so far isn't he. Can't believe so many stupid teams out there didn't want to pay the man and now they'll all pay much more this offseason. "Who couldn't see that coming..."
