  1. Not gonna complain about the Springer signing. We knew we had to give the extra year for him to come here and most were happy with it at the time. I still don't think he's completely done as a player. He plays well at RF and can be an effective 5th hitter or so. It's just the days of him batting leadoff should be considered over and not something this front office should be relying upon.
  2. Well, they won the year before and Chapman didn't seem to be the fondest of this organization. I'm probably too biased against Shatkins at this stage but those douches have shown near 0 people skills since they've been here and they haven't achieved enough success to offset their robotic approach to the game. I doubt they truly have any actual supporters but people are also fickle. If they go onto sign Soto, you'll see me and many others jump ship pretty easily to support your point lol. I just find it unrealistic for them to do all the things required to get on the good side of their peers at this stage.
  3. I would love Shatkins to develop the balls to put their faces in front of the fans. These 2 have been in hiding ever since the Berrios f*** up. I can't think of 2 more hated sports people in this city at the moment. They started with everyone hating their guts and their tenure will end with everyone hating their guts lol.
  4. But most would agree that the "bounce back" from this team just doesn't exist unless MAJOR additions are made. There is such a lack of overall talent offensively/bullpen that we can't compare this situation to the teams you listed. We also have a piss poor farm system where we can't even "hope" we get unexpected performance from there. It's literally free agency and/or a miraculous trade to get this team back into contention.
  5. Ya I'm just saying what I think it'll take to get this team back to relevancy from an offensive standpoint. If our off-season is as you suggest, I'll get a headstart and tune this out before the season even starts like i did for most of the 2nd half this season. This team showed it is not currently close to contention. Go check how a real team that gets saddled with injuries looks like (Braves). How they still made the playoffs is remarkable.
  6. Aligns with MAGA Rogers lol.
  7. Bregman and Teo it is. Sucks because we could have signed Teo to a good 2/3 year deal last year but now will probably have to overpay after the season he just had. This team needs to add 2 hitters to fit into their top 4 with Springer moving to the 5/6 spot. Anything less is just a waste of everyone's time. Hope these douches use common sense so we don't have a repeat of last years off-season.
  8. Lol @ Shatkins still being here. I wanted these douches gone after the Berrios fiasco but them still being here after this season is assanine. They'll have to get Soto or 2 of Teo/Walker/Alonso/Bregman for me to feel otherwise. Hilarious how Rogers gets rid of AA after 2015 and wanted to get rid of Masai after the championship but they got no problem keeping these idiots. Toronto sports is heading and staying in dark times for a while it seems.
  9. We can talk about where we'd like our current players positionally, the truth is that a lot of this will be dependent on the free agents and/or players we can get via trade. You go get the best player(s) and then plug in our current guys where it makes sense. Without knowing who we can get, we're just going in circles. It is good to have some flexibility positonally but I'm sure the front office can't be stupid enough to go to the other extreme again by totally neglecting defense.
  10. Probably the first time I've heard Bo say anything of that sorts. I always felt 2B was his position and he probably could have been re-signed to a smaller deal if that were the case. Giving someone a mega deal to suck at SS defensively isn't ideal but I love his bat. Shatkins shouldn't be the people here to make this call but seems like they will. Gonna be a hard one to figure out this offseason.
  11. Just got MLB the Show 24 and simulated this season to get to the offseason. Don't worry folks, I signed Soto, Alphonso and s couple of bullpen guys for us. We're so back for next season lol.
  12. I approve of this teams offense. Been a lot more fun watching this team hit than than the past 1.5 seasons. Get 2 top 5 of the order bats for next year with some major bullpen additions and we're back in contention.
  13. Pet peeve - if you're a utility player then learn how to f***ing bunt.
  14. Red Sox are dumb... why wouldn't you walk Vlad to face one of the worst clean up hitters in baseball...
  15. We would need to sweep the Twins unless finishing 7th was the goal lol
  16. Nice Clement .. swing at ball 4 four different times lol
  17. Crazy part is that the Astros paid us for a Cy young version of Kikuchi already so I do hope he continues to kill it for them. Seeing him get booed by the fans because of the GMs stupidness would have been a sad sight.
  18. I thought playing for a small market with no real playoff success and not reaching that 500 HR mark that a lot of first baseman are held to could make it debatable. Obviously he made up for not getting 500 HRs by just being a flat out great hitter. This is where advanced stats has made society smarter where you can look past some of that crap and objectively measure his greatness without actually watching him do it since his teams were hardly ever must watch.
  19. I know the comment was a joke but it got me thinking whether Votto's a sure bet for the HoF. There are so many greats who still aren't in man. I do love that about baseball as they totally make you earn being in the HoF whereas it's open to everyone in other sports.
  20. Hey, it saved me the energy of having to check everyone out individually lol.
  21. Gregor Chisholm: The Blue Jays traded eight players at the deadline. Here’s what they’re doing with their new teams https://www.thestar.com/sports/blue-jays/the-blue-jays-traded-eight-players-at-the-deadline-heres-what-theyre-doing-with-their/article_8e373432-5ef2-11ef-a6b0-9b2b8e263283.html
  22. I pay cash for the year and get an $8/month rate from Golumbia Video in Brampton. I've had the service for about 5 years now and it's been amazing. I still got Bell TV but use IPTV as my secondary box for movies/shows/ppvs/sports.
  23. Many wanted his ass fired after last season so it's not unreasonable for people to want him gone asap.
