  1. Thought I read he turned down much lower AAV on a 2/3 year deal. Based on how much he got for 1 year, logic would suggest he didn't get a big enough deal to make him pass that up, could be wrong. Point still remains that our franchise of all franchises should have known what Teo can provide.
  2. Bringing Teo back last year is hardly a crazy statement, especially when the alternative was bringing back KK on a 10.5M deal. You'd have to be foolish to think his Seattle performance was going to stay that way. I've said countless times that a player who turns down a multi year deal for a 1 year deal is someone who I'd bet on more often than not. Also, it isn't hard to outperform Atkins the past few season... most of this board except the Shatkin stans would have done a better job. Just take your L's and take a backseat to others who have consistently proven you wrong lol.
  3. You're right... I only mentioned Bo at SS for a world series contender because the Jays punted their offense to go all in on pitching/defense and yet had one of the weaker defensive SS's in baseball when that decision was made.
  4. It's never been a question about his bat, it's always been his defense. And being adequate defensively in probably the most important position on the field isn't good enough for a team trying to contend for a world series, especially when you punted on offense to be great defensively. Anyways, this argument is old as hell. Blue Jays screwed up by not moving Bo to 2B earlier in his career so it is what it is. They catered to his ego from the start and aren't even looking like they'll be able to keep him long term anyways lol.
  5. I would have been ok with a 3/45 last year with no options. He had enough of a track record to bet on, especially for this franchise. It was a poor decision not to bring him back last year, which I called out at the time.
  6. It's hard to tell you and Brownie apart at times so my bad lol. And obviously Bo plays a harder position defensively but thats the exact same reason why the standards should be higher there.
  7. For sure... we had our chance to pick him up last year when his value was low and he didn't come with a pick attached to him.
  8. Noooooo... just one less option when Soto signs elsewhere
  9. He has definitely improved defensively but when the bar was so low, it still isn't something bragging about. His range defensively is subpar and basestealing has all but disappeared. If we're going to talk about sprint speed then why bring up Vladdy's weight when his sprint speed is similar to Bo's... Maybe you should spend a bit more time watching the games instead of trying to cherry pick numbers to always "support" your argument. There are certain things that are very obvious from watching games that you're clearly missing the boat on from being a numbers nerd... hopefully this front office takes that advice too lol.
  10. Bo sure looked like he gained those 60 pounds last year, dude looked slow as f*** out there. Says something about his SS abilities when he's been in tip top shape previously and still sucked at the position. Obviously the Blue Jays Golden Child can't get moved off SS even for an inning. Most of these are jokes but it wouldn't be hard to see how Vladdy could feel slighted with how the Jays have treated him lol.
  11. Probably saw the Jays first offer and said f*** this, I'm out. He's only been asking for an extension for 3 years. We moved him off 3B while letting Bo stink it up at SS and traded all his friends, time to panic folks lol.
  12. I'm sure if you told him to stfu as part of a MLB deal he'd take it. Sucks for the whites for being able to speak English then... who would have thought the society would reach that point lol.
  13. Seeing Chapman get all these deals but Bauer still blackballed is whack. Maybe Trump can "pardon" Bauer in the eye of the public lol.
  14. I honestly want to see all funds possible used on 2 big bats and bullpen help first. Seeing them spend any money on anything else will give me deja vu to last year where they spent 50M but ignored their biggest weakness lol.
  15. Sounds like a rule you'd do for the Allstars game lol
  16. Backup catcher is probably 10th on their list of holes to fill this off-season. Let's hope Jano's market crashes for that.
  17. Wokeness is slowly dying across the world... we're able to call out things as we see them now. Fat camp for Kirk or just get the same haircut as Vlad lol. Heck, most of the fat world is going on Ozempic so at least use that. It should be embarrassing for a professional athlete to be so fat at this age. Like you'd think you'd feel some shame when you're a slap singles hitter that clogs the bases. Those instances where he can't take the extra base where 99% of the league should hurt him enough to want to make the change.
  18. WAR needs to get fixed if Arraez is only considered a 1 WAR player. Yes, I get he doesn't provide much else but the skill he has is the best in baseball. That has to provide more value considering the number of players ahead of him. Also, we thought the Padres needed to slash payroll last year and that really didn't happen. Let's see if it happens this year.
  19. Why not just get everyone from the Cards... Arenado, Matz and Helsley
  20. You're the mod, we expect you to save us lol
  21. It's obvious isn't it? Ohtani eventually gets his money while allowing the Dodgers to stack up their team during his playing career. It's a win/win.
  22. f*** the Dodgers man. s*** ain't even fair lol. I will assume they are out of the Soto sweepstakes and will re-sign Teo instead..
  23. Reds trade India, Wiemer to Royals for Singer https://thescore.com/mlb/news/3136605
  24. The conversation isn't whether Soto is good or not, it's whether adding him while not being able to upgrade the team on multiple other fronts is good enough. We had Jose/Edwin for years and couldn't win crap until we put a complete full team around them with Donaldson, Martin, Tulo, bullpen etc. Don't get me wrong though, I'd be one of the first to get a Soto jersey... This team just has far too many years holes, which we know isn't going to get patched up with our farm system.
  25. So would a lot of the tier 2 free agents like Adamas, Teo, etc. I'm totally in the side of using the money spent on Soto on those level players instead. Soto's gonna be a 50M per season DH in about 5 years. This guy ain't Ohtani who was projected to be a stud on both sides of the ball. Seeing 660M thrown around as a starting point for him is dumb imo.
