  1. That just means we're due. Francis emerging is such a nice surprise. Certainly a strong candidate for one of the starting 5 SPs next season. If they sign one more okay vet, who can start and provide innings in middle relief when needed, they can start focusing resources on everything else.
  2. I hope they make a run at Kikuchi, tbh. I don't know what a 3-year deal looks like, but I make that phone call.
  3. No, you were right on brand with your typical, add nothing to the conversation, posts. But I mean, it's not your fault. You truly have no insight.
  4. Another quality post, mate. You are like the Donald Trump of posters.
  5. Here is my rationale... Background Check: Javier Báez, affectionately known as “El Mago,” has had a career full of twists and turns. From his magical moments with the Chicago Cubs to his recent stint with the Detroit Tigers, he’s been both a wizard with the glove and a lightning bolt at the plate. But what happened in Detroit? And why should the Blue Jays consider him? Analyzing Báez’s Performance Offensive Upside: Báez’s offensive profile is like a rollercoaster ride. He’s had MVP-caliber seasons (remember 2018?), but he’s also faced slumps (hello, 2020). His swing-and-miss tendencies are real, but he’s shown improved plate discipline at times. In 2023 with the Tigers, he played in 136 games, hitting .222/.267/.325 with 18 doubles, four triples, and nine home runs. Not exactly eye-popping, but let’s not forget his ceiling. Defensive Versatility: Báez has been an elite defender at shortstop for years. But here’s the twist: He also owns positive defensive metrics at second base. In 2,141 career innings at second, he’s been solid in both UZR (Ultimate Zone Rating) and DRS (Defensive Runs Saved). He’s even dabbled at third base, with 65 games of starting experience. His arm strength and agility make him intriguing there. Super-Utility Potential: Imagine a Báez who toggles between second base and third base. He’d spell Bo Bichette at shortstop occasionally, or maybe replace him if traded. Offensive Ceiling: When Báez is on, he’s electric. His power potential and ability to drive in runs could inject life into the Jays’ lineup. Defensive Wizardry: Whether at second or third, Báez’s glove work is gold. He’s a human highlight reel waiting to happen. The Calculated Risk Contract: Báez signed a six-year, $140 million deal with the Tigers in 2021. The Tigers would pay 50-75% of this for shizzle. Price Tag: The Jays have already committed significant funds this offseason. Can they afford another splash? In this scenario, Baez costs way less than Bichette, and we get a ton of prospects for Bichette, also. Conclusion: Low Risk, High Reward? Báez could be the missing puzzle piece for the Jays. His versatility, defensive prowess, and offensive potential make him a tantalizing trade target. If the Jays can unlock his magic, they’ll have a dynamic player who can impact games in multiple ways.
  6. My rationale is in the original post, mate. Reading is your friend.
  7. Your response continues your general trend of post quality.
  8. Your posts continue to have as much nutritional value as a candy wrapper, mate.
  9. Javier Báez is weird. He had some pretty great seasons before Detroit, but now... What happened there do you think? If Bo does get traded, and the Tigers ate a lot of his salary, would Javier Báez be an interesting trade target?
  10. This would be a good thread on its own! We downgraded to the $6.99 ad version of Netflix, and haven't noticed the difference. I pay a few bucks a year for 500 GB of OneDrive cloud storage. Useful. We have a family YouTube Premium sub, $25 and the kids pay for it. YT Music is awesome, but doesn't play nice with the Amazon ecosystem. If you are paying for Prime, you also have endless photo (JPG, etc.) cloud storage. Warning, if you ever downgrade, they do not make it easy to download them en masse. I use goojara.to for all of my other streaming needs.
  11. Uh, no. That's not true.
  12. For the players we traded? You think we should have got more than we did for those rentals (sorry Pearson)?
  13. Has anyone ever seen such an infusion of talent from a single trade deadline? I mean with the Blue Jays? I have followed the team for almost 40 years and I cannot recall such a thing happening. The FO gets an A for the trade deadline deals. if only Garcia had stayed healthy, etc.
  14. I think we saw glimpses last year. He could be a solid #5, or #6...
  15. I think Francis is making a case to be the #5 SP in 2025. I was really happy when the Jays got Wagner in the Kikuchi trade. I have a REALLY good feeling about him. That Kikuchi trade may really pay huge dividends for years.
  16. Just curious what you guys think? What is Bo comes back and goes on a heater the rest of the way, and Vladdy stays hot. In the offseason, contract extensions go nowhere with both and both are traded. What would that haul look like?
  17. I like your synopsis. I will add that I think *if* Bo comes back from IL and lights it up, he will almost 100% be traded in the off season. We may get a starter or two from that. Unsure. But he should bring in a better haul than Kikuchi.
  18. A 50FV pitcher is f***ing awesome. That is a great trade for the Jays. Holy s***. He can step in now and start.
  19. I would prefer trading him for a decent prospect and then re-signing him in the off-season. He gets to learn another team's systems, and brings that knowledge back. But yeah, I really try to re-sign him after. Tell his agent it's best for him (playoffs?) and the Jays to do this.
  20. I will take "How could this season get any worse for $400, Alex". Just, wow.
  21. We're the team other teams can get an easy win by calling up some POS AAA starter who will throw a 2-hitter. Like everytime.
  22. We're the team other teams can call up a scrub starter from AAA and expect a near perfect game. Like, every time. #TOthecore
  23. I think Joe is great. He's insightful, and his analysis of batting is really strong. I disagree with you 100%. We actually chat on X frequently.
  24. How do you all think the Jays will do against the Dodgers?
