    I kind of liked him...not a huge fan, but whenever I watched him he seemed to come up with a hit. I wish him well.

    I would s*** my pants if they signed Freeman. He projected for a 3-year deal. Maybe if he's given a 5-year, 20M AAV? He's 32. But worth ~ 4 WAR a season. And he bats left. Which is really what is needed.

    I've wanted to dislike them since the GM_AA fiasco, but they keep building a better team year after year, and continue doing it smart ways that keep our long game solid with prospects. I love their plan so far. They have said too often for it not to be true that the money is there. They certainly have payroll parameters, many have said ~ $180, but I also believe they have latitude to make huge trades and sign FAs if the opportunity presents itself. In sum, this FO doesn't f*** around, but they do not do things recklessly. I love it.

    Great signing, but yeah, 100% Ray era is over. Now we get the Semien and Ray compensation picks, whilst not losing one with Gausman because he too his QO last year. Just so brilliant. Now they need a 3B...or trust Vladdy's new quickness and lithe build plays at 3B and trade for Votto.

    Kwang Hyun Kim would be a no-brainer signing for me. For so many reasons. Spot starter, relief, whatever. Steamer predicts ~ 1.2 WAR.

    He has three years left I think...that would be Groshans++. But I would do it. Takes care of 3B for three years. Biggio/Espinal bouncing around between 2B and the INF works for me. You'd you solid defense and offence. I would prefer the three years and probable cost more than a lot of trades that have been proposed. We could even eat some bad salary to retain a prospect I would bet.

    Universal DH, division re-alignment, robo-umps (with a firm ETA) and pitch clocks for me...in that order.

    It would be nice to trade McGuire and Kirk into a player or two to help the team and go with Jansen until May, and then bring up Moreno. Depends on the new CBA I guess.

    Matt Chapman would be nice, but my number one priority is a elite offensive player who bats left and has plus defense. For anywhere but 1B or SS. But I wouldn't shy away from signing Seiya Suzuki.

    I just assumed they would be offering Matz a QO. I take a pass on Ray, unless he is okay for 3-year/$60M which isn't happening and back up the bank truck for Semien. I would sign a couple of thoroughbred SPs on a pillow contract.

    What are the expected changes in MLB/CBA starting next year? I hope we have a universal DH, more playoff spots and a new division/league alignments. I suspect the compensation pick/QOs may be scrapped, but I am not sure how they maintain "competitive" balance if that is done. MLB has to at least look like it's not playing favourites with the big teams that can spend money and get good ratings...
