  1. Fun fact: Jason Heyward is only 9.1 wins above replacement from being a hall of fame caliber player. Thanks Harold Baines!
  2. I think I mean in relation to each position. Smoak is listed as the 7th best 1st baseman according to MLB Network top 10 by position list.
  3. Hi guys, off topic, but I'm bummed out today. Just caught up on the MLB network's top 100 players show, and the Jays don't have one player on it. I understand that Vlad Jr. will be on it next year. But this is a break down of the top teams: Red Sox - 6 Indians - 6 Nationals - 5 Astros - 7 Yankees - 8 Braves - 4 Dodgers - 7 And they all have good/great farm systems with players to step in. Like Astros with Whitley and Tucker. We can't compete in the forseeable future. It's simple math. We currently have 0 and those teams have 5, 6, 7. Our current best player, Smoakie, is on the wrong side of 30 and probably won't re-sign, so he can be on a winner. Vlad has said to have Miggy comparisons. But Miggy can't bring a championship on his own. Look at the Tigers record the past couple of years. Hypothetically speaking, even if we broke the bank to get Harper and Machado, we'd only have 3 in the top 100. Still wouldn't cut it. I dunno. Maybe I'm overthinking things. I would just hate another 20 year drought.
  4. Just wondering your dudes thoughts on Stroman's season? Seems like he can be a mental midget sometimes but injuries really impacted his performance. If we extrapraprolate his 1.5 fWar to the number of games he played in 2017, he'd end up with 2.6 fWar which would be in a tie for 33rd best in the league with Chacin and Odorizzi. Considering that there's 30 teams in the major league baseball, that would make him the #2 starter on 27 teams in the league.
  5. Hi all, I'm a long time reader, first time writer. Been a Bluejays fan since around 1985. As a part time producer I thought I could give some input. In addition to the topics mentioned, I think you should add a segment like "Retro Blue Jays Player of the Week". It would be an interesting fact followed by the players name. You could save it until the very end. That would hook the listener and they'd be excited to hear who you selected for the week. It would also be a great closing line. So as an example, you could say "Lyle Overlay grounded into a double play (GDP) 24 times in 2008, but reduced his GDP to 8 in 2009. That's why Lyle Overlay is *pause* your retro Blue Jay of the week". Thoughts?
