  1. You're a visionary!
  2. The issue I have with the format is that it basically becomes an endurance competition. Vladdy was gassed at the end. I don't like the fact that players can end the round early if they're hitting second. Why don't they make the final round a minute shorter and for every home run they hit in the first two rounds they get a bonus second? It would push everyone to get as many homers as possible and not have the advantage to rest more than the other. It would reward someone like Vladdy who would have 60+ extra seconds. So Vladdy could get about a half a minute advantage over Alonso. Or Alonso would've been gassed as well trying to hit more in the first few rounds.
  3. This is ********! Let's riot!
  4. The Spankster is the GOAT!
  5. Serious question, is C. Danger and SweatyBlueBalls the same person? Hard to distinguish at this point.
  6. Mr. Balls, I should've added a semicolon after "forum". Forum becomes the subject and is in control of the verb "to ban". I would never violate the subject-verb agreement by associating that action to you. Also, as a fellow BJMB member, I wouldn't insult you by referring to you as "it".
  7. Are the Jays linked to another big prospect this year or is the top dawg that they're getting, the number 27 ranked player?
  8. Ahhh...internet forums...where a post which starts out offering sympathies to a player who died way too soon, turns into a pissing match over semantics.
  9. Thanks. Yeah, it's a redraft. I have weak pitching in a couple other teams. Is McKay expected to stay up and is he worth picking up?
  10. Ok, thanks. What about dropping Severino? picked him because I heard he was supposed to come back shortly after the all-star break. Now I read that he won't be back until late August. Is McKay or Stripling worth dropping him?
  11. So I have the following pitchers and I can gain the most points in wins, followed by era and whip: Snell, DeGrom, Morton, Paddack, Treinen, Hand, Giles, Liam Hendricks, Keuchel, Wheeler, Severino, Peacock, Luchessi. The interesting available pitchers are: Fried, Stripling, Mackay, and Greg Holland. Who should I drop, in what order and what order should I pick up? I was thinking dropping Peacock and Keuchel for two of the bunch. Who would you rank highest of the available pitchers?
  12. Thanks, Spanky.
  13. I'm in money leagues and I like the idea of a small weekly pot. It's frustrating seeing so many give up and then the top 3 or 4 teams just blow past them in each category. Is there a fantasy thread here where people can ask questions? I have a few moves that I have to make and not sure which direction to go.
  14. I've been a lurker for many years and the ol' Spankster has a soft spot in my heart!
  15. Fair point on the OBP. I'm only new to fantasy (the past 3 years) and one of the main issues I have is when teams are out of it, they give up so quickly. Many lineups with players on the DL. Are there any sites that have a way to keep all teams engaged? I have a solution.
  16. To answer number 3, vodka. Snell and Treinen have derailed my fantasy team so I'm on a mini bender.
  17. Don't know where else to post this, just some random thoughts. When will fantasy baseball drop the antiquated average as a main statistic and use on base percentage? Also, WHIP seems like a meaningless stat. You can have an extreme ground ball pitcher and an extreme fly ball pitcher with the same whip but vastly different results. Wouldn't bases per inning be a more meaningful metric?
  18. Flaherty suxx! I'd rather Merryweather.
  19. There's no crying in baseball!
  20. Thanks, guys. I had someone tell me today that they tried to go a couple years ago and it was sold out because of so many Canadians in Florida this time of the year. I thought that was off as I heard that Tampa basically never sells out.
  21. Yo, dudes! Is there any way to find out when Vladdy will play in Tampa Bay next week? I'll be down there and don't want the same s*** happening to me as what happened on Victoria Day.
  22. This while Red Sox bitching about Stroman is getting on my last nerve. They obviously know that he quick pitches from time to time to throw off the hitter. As long as he's not violating a rule, it's on them to adjust and be prepared. They have the scouting reports. I hope Chris Sale gets a bad case of the runs the next time out! Players need to stop complaining about other players with personalities. The amount of showboating and celebrating a meaningless shot in the NBA is treated as commonplace. And the amount of bitching and complaining over a called foul or a foul that wasn't called is out of hand. It could be so much worse. Let the kids play!
  23. Forget that he has short man syndrome, you dudes suffer from Stroman derangement syndrome!
  24. Can someone explain to me why teams wouldn't want to have a player option after say 5 - 7 years? To me I'd rather have Harper for 5 - 7 solid years and then hope he opts out. He'd be 31 - 33 at that point and I'd rather miss out on a few more productive years and not have to pay for 5+ years of poor production. Plus, an opt out would add a psychological effect of keeping his production as high as possible to earn another big pay day.
