Jays not rising to the occasion. They can beat up on the teams that they're supposed to, but they're s***ing the bed against the contenders. -
To be fair, 2020 was the goofy 60 game lock-down season, you can't read too much into that season. There wasn't even a spring training. You guys sound like little girls

Atkins really needs to do something about the pitching. The offense is great, but the pitching is a dumpster fire... Not going to cut it in the long run.

Big series, boys. Brutal way to start off, but these next 2 match-ups are going to be massive statement games. We gotta bounce back and notch at least 1. Would be brutal to come right back outta the break to be swept by the first place team

I dunno. I partake in a lot of different baseball communities and the amount of flack that Charlie gets is a lot less than some of the other lesser offenders around the league. I think most Jays fans understate just what a clueless manager he really is. In my 30 years of watching baseball, I've never seen a worse managerial blunder than when Charlie let Chatwood walk in like 5 straight batters to lose the game against the Indians. The guy's a complete moron and I often wonder how much his presence can be blamed on the lack of focus and fundamentals as a whole that this team has displayed throughout the year. I definitely don't think an unproven guy like Montoyo is the right fit to lead a young and up and coming team to a championship.

I can't believe Vegas had the odds so wrong. I really didn't understand why they had Ohtani as such a heavy favorite. I didn't see him excelling in this format. I put 20 on Gallo and 20 on Alonso. Pretty easy money. Wish I would've went harder on it in hindsight. Gotta give props to Buck Martinez, he called Alonso to win it

I like the old format better. Brings more attention to each bomb. The time limit makes it kind of manic and takes away all of the attention from the majestic jacks. Manfred can't get anything right.

Well, they're supposed to wait till the ball lands before releasing the next pitch... Hardly anyone was doing that, but Mancini's pitcher was the worst offender

It is a little underwhelming isn't it? Perez, Mancini, Olson ETC. I mean sure, they're good power hitters, but not exactly the kind of sensational players that are going to move the needle much. No Judge, no Vladdy ETC

Should be a fun one! Been looking at some of the Vegas odds and they have Ohtani as the heavy favorite. I'm not sure I agree. Who do you guys look to win it? I'm putting some money on Alonso, Olson and Gallo.

They're 9 games out at the all-star break. Is there an outside chance that they could sneak into a wildcard spot? I don't see it. The pitching just isn't there and the offense is a little hit and miss. They could go all out at the trade deadline like AA did in 15 and that would change things, but I don't see Atkins going that route.

Yeah buddy, seems like the friend provided the goods and it was verified. Whole thing seemed like a bit of a nothing burger once we saw the text messages released from Bauer's legal team. I sorta feel bad for the guy. Going to be tough to come back in the eyes of the public in this crazy culture. His own fault for being such a dumbass tho!
