Atkins definitely deserves some blame. As much as I hate Montoyo, the bullpen was putrid and lost a ton of winnable games. -

I got the feeling with Charlie that he wasn't taking each and every game seriously. No one can convince me that he didn't throw that game against Cleveland to stick it to Chatwood. It's just inexcusable. Unless the team is in first place late in the season by 10 games, every game is crucial and important and they need to be managed that way. -

The worst part was his weasel talk after the game. He was trying to justify his decision to the media by by basically saying who cares, "we won 2 out of the 3 games! It doesn't get any better than that!" If we miss the playoffs by 1 game, we can all point to that game as the reason why.

I'm reading Lenny Dykstra's autobiography right now. Great book. In it he raves about Gibby. Says he's just a 1 of a kind guy, the kind of guy you'd want your daughter to marry.

Honestly man, I say they should bring him back next year. The teams ready to contend, there's a veteran presence back on the team. Gibby's the perfect man for the job. Would be a brilliant PR move too. Get the guy at the helm who managed the legendary 2015/16 seasons. The fans and media would love it. A true win-win situation. They could keep Montoyo on as the bench-coach as I think he's more suited for being a sidekick rather than a true leader.

That was the worst in-game managerial performance that I've ever seen in 30 years of watching baseball. I was literally yelling at the TV... "PULL HIM!"

The problem is he went with the same pitch in the same location for a 3rd time... Stanton was looking for it... Too predictable. Dumb pitch.

Rough game. Vladdy's definitely out of gas... It's a long season, MLB is a grind, it's a learning process in regards to how to produce late in the season. I'd maybe DH him for a few games. Maybe let Lordes play first.

There's no doubt about it. I still think back to that game against the Indians were Montoyo let some scrub pitcher (name's slipping my mind) to walk something like 4 straight batters in the last inning to lose the game. As it turned out, Montoyo threw the game to prove a point to the pitcher after a prior conflict between the 2. And if Jays miss the playoffs by 1 game, that can be one of the games highlighted... Was the worst in-game managerial performance that I have ever witnessed in my 30 years of watching baseball.

And even just looking at the run differential... It's absurd that the Jays don't have a better record and I can think of at least 5 different games were Montoyo made fireable offenses that cost the team the game.

Well if they lose today they fall 2 back... Starts to get a lot more dicey, especially with the Mariners on their tail

If the Jays miss the playoffs, it can be blamed squarely on Motoyo with all the games he needlessly threw away earlier in the season.
