  1. GM signs players. Presidents oversee. Why not give credit to Atkins the GM for the signing? When the Jays traded for Price, Tulo, Revere, Lowe were you praising AA or Beeston??
  2. If they acquire a SP then Biagini slots back into a late inning relief role where he is a proven commodity and my preference. One signing fills 2 spots.Jays have their top 4 spots locked in. no reason to acquire 2 SPs that are better than Estrada their 4th pitcher or Estrada would be a bullpen arm. That is not going to happen. So the thought of signing 2 good SPs is just a dream.
  3. 2 lists. No Martin.https://www.mlb.com/news/buster-posey-remains-atop-2018-top-10-catchers/c-265337230
  4. Reading through the "Right now" rankings Jays have 2 players in the top ten for their positions. JD and Osuna. Stro would be the only other guy close I would imagine. Not nearly enough talent on this team to compete with the big boys.
  5. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=guerri000tay http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/guerrieri-rekindle-promising-career-blue-jays/ I am way late to the party on this Taylor Guerrieri signing but does anyone think that this guy has a chance to make our bullpen out of spring? Be our top SP option in Buffalo??
  6. I would guess it would take minimum $6 million plus incentives to sign him. He won't be that cheap of a signing.
  7. The Jays are kind of pregnant. Just like they are kind of trying to compete. Big contracts for Tulo, Martin, Donaldson. That is great, I like the Infield. Worst OF in American League other than maybe KC This was the worst team in the East last season until the last day. How is adding depth at the middle IF position going to over take BoSx and Yanks? The team needs to get younger and more athletic with the thought to compete in the future or get off their wallets and sign some players to help them compete today. The fact they aren't in on the top FA pitchers tells you that they are not serious in contending. Worst thing that can happen is what is happening. patching a flawed roster. Cut the fat and go young or load up and go for it. Another season like last is not appealing to me.
  8. And we are competing with teams that acquire The HR king Stanton for scraps, and Resigned CC and were MILES better in all areas then us before the off season began. Team needs an upgrade on Zeke if LF. Nice guy, ok player. it is just we have too many OK players in the OF. Need a MASHER!
  9. Why does anyone want The Jays to tie up future budget money or trade prospects to get marginally better. for this coming year? The writing is on the wall. Jays are too old, slow and generally not good enough to be patched. Yanks, Red Sox and Houston are light years ahead of the Jays. Until they get a higher salary cap number or rid themselves of Martin, Tulo, Morales contracts the team will not be a contender. Worst case scenario is to tie up more money in aging FA players like Martinez, Gonzolez or Cain. Management says they can't improve the team by trading Donaldson. I say that is a hell of a lot better option than losing him for a draft pick in the off season. or signing the then 32 year old to an inflated 5 year deal while we are not ready to contend. Stop the ******** management. Do what needs to be done, get younger, cheaper, faster now and be ready to contend when our top level prospect become ripe. The fans will buy into that.Hell I will even buy into selling on Donaldson and reinvesting his money in a FA as a secondary plan.
  10. Does this concern anyone as to how younger sibling may advance? The Rockies have agreed to terms on a minor-league pact with Dante Bichette Jr., whose father was a four-time Rockies All-Star. News of the pact was originally reported by Matt Kardos at Pinstripe Prospects, and later confirmed by the elder Dante Bichette (via Thomas Harding of MLB.com). Bichette Jr. began his career in promising fashion after the Yankees made him a supplemental first round pick in the 2011 draft; the third baseman hit .342/.446/.505 with the Yankees’ Rookie league affiliate. However, he’s never quite managed to replicate that success at any other level of the minors. As such, Bichette Jr. has yet to reach Triple-A. Most recently, he hit .262/.352/.352 with the Trenton Thunder (Double-A affiliate of the Yankees) in 2017.
  11. Wilner does a great job post game. Dude gets so much air time that you can't expect a fresh new take on the same stuff every day. I find him entertaining. Where i am getting sick is listening to the fake positives from Buck Joe and Tabler. Well look...the Jays are only 6 games from the wild card. Or the other day a nice little start by Bolsinger. Or he is really starting to swing the bat well (Insert struggling Jays name here) Horrible to listen to and just reaching for straws.
  12. Whatever we do in LF and 1st base i hope the team finds a way to keep Goins on the 25 man. I would send Smoak to the minors or cut Upton and his 1 year deal in a heart beat. Goins over Zeke too.
  13. A fine steak and a fine Blue Jay...WHAT???
  14. Upton does not make the Jays opening day roster.
  15. Dalton Pompey based on pro rating his spring stats will win the job in LF and hit 500 home runs this season. Smoak and Loup are demoted Ryan Goins starts more than 100 games for the Jays Devon Travis gets injured...I mean stays healthy
  16. One pick after Ricky Romero goes Troy Tulo. Story is all the scouts said Tulo. Our GM JPR over rode this as he had drafted our SS of the future in Russ Adams a couple drafts previous.
  17. But can he play LF better than Chris Cowbell??
  18. The shift has affected Smoak as badly as any player i would say. I am sure he practiced some bunting for some free hits and to make teams play him more straight up in the 6 months he had off.....right JS??
  19. Maybe Gibby will ask Smoak to lay a bunt down 3rd for an automatic hit until they take the shift off.
  20. Jesse Chavez and Drew Storen say hi
  21. I want my players to be scrappy. Who gives a rats ass if it pisses of the opponent. Aren't you suppose to try to get on base? If i was a Washington player i would not be pleased. If i am a Pittsburgh player i dont want a perfect game hung on me.
  22. And Zaun went on at nausea what a team friendly contract the Jays signed with Smoak. OMG guy is out of touch.
  23. Now is an awesome time that you can sign guys for a reasonable contract. Fits for us on a minor league deal may be Ryan Howard, Mourneau or Adam Lind. I still think any of these guys in the Blue Jay lineup can contribute. We were apparently interested in Yusmeiro Petit last off season. Petit, Latos, Tom Wilhelmsen, Alfredo Simon, Kevin Jepson all intriguing arms. Lets go bargain shopping!
  24. Does Smith struggle with LH hitters? Looks like he would be tough against RH hitters.
