    $$$$$$$ March Madness has been ingrained in American Culture for years. Everyone from the senile old President down to the housewife doing Pilates has half an eye on the bracket. Either they are in an office/friends pool, like an underdog story, are alumni or friends or family are, or just out of curiosity. The WBC is relatively very new and takes long breaks, doesn’t have a long play in like soccer etc. I like the WBC, but it needs to develop the brand in the US.

    If Belt is on the IL for an extended period of time it might make sense.... Votto would def be an upgrade on Biggio if healthy.

    So my older son's elementary school is doing an online auction this week to support extracurricular activities etc. One of the items is this below. “A DAY WITH JOSE” A private 2 Hour baseball training with former Oakland Athletics outfielder JOSE CANSECO for up to 4 kids. Location will be Sycamore Field in Danville. Each child will receive an official MLB signed baseball at the end of the training. OR A round of golf with former Oakland Athletics outfielder JOSE CANSECO for up to 3 adults. Location will be Chimera Golf Club Las Vegas. Green fees and cart rental fees included. Travel expenses excluded. The online auction started today and ends in six days. So far the bid is at $1K USD. I'm not bidding on this one.. I did bid on 4 Oakland A's tickets to any game except black out games. Planning to go when the Jays are in town.

    They used to do that. In this case I understand he didn't show up at the airport. The way these regime's control defecting and have indebted servitude etc in most cases is threats against family members remaining in Cuba, China or wherever. If this guy didn't have any family in Cuba to use as leverage then lucky him and you think they would have kept a higher vis on him...

    Leave the poor guy alone. He comes from a long line of Flutists. That is how they took last names back in the day, by their trade. Painter, Bridges, Mason, Stone, Baker, Farmer, ********** etc, etc.

    He is not wrong in his statement- Tell me how to get the batter out. I have heard it straight from MLB players mouths, there are pitchers with great spin rates but are very hittable. I see too many guys on here who just look at a pitchers percentile and say FB velocity etc and equate that with an effective pitcher. There are batters who hit guys hard with statistically good spin rates. There are batters who can turn on 101 mph fastballs, batters who can lay off a 95 percentile break curveball etc, etc. So yea, tell me how to get a batter out..

    Waaaaaay to fnnn early. Also, I remember trading Jeff Kent for David Cone. Cone pitched a few months and in the playoffs. Then Cone left at the end of the season for FA. Kent was a multiple time All-Starr and should have been a HoF IMO. However, we won a damm WS with Cone. Parade memories and trophies last forever.

    If Canada can’t beat them, I say fight them. That 2013 brawl was epic! I would love Mexico vs Canada 2.0. Canada blows them out and beats their ass in an on-field brawl lol

    I remember Canada did the same thing last WBC. I want to say it was with a their best closer..Maybe Axford at the time ICR. They were in a blow out game or something like that, they were playing a really good team next game and they are using their closer. I might have the details wrong, but I distinctly remember thinking WTF!!??
