  1. Is that $50 Loonies or $50 GWs? Put your money where your mouth is Connor!
  2. You are forgetting how bad he has sucked in non-save opportunities... I don't have a dog in the fight over him being chosen for the All-Star game, let's just present the whole picture. Also, I wish he would get a haircut and a beard trim if if he is going represent, he looks like fuzzy wuzzzy.
  3. Thank you Spank I appreciate it! I wanted to look at other players. However, good to know Martinez is in the top 100 if we need to make trade
  4. Actually, if it is not gloomy, which it hasn't been recently, it is a beautiful place to be. I was just there the other week. The weather was awesome!
  5. Dude, he sucks right now, but he has shown he can hit previously and he still plays good D and runs the bases well. I remember we used to call EE, E5 and the Jays DFAd him. Couldn't hit worth a s*** first half and was horrible at 3B. He ended up being a star... I personally think it is the hitting coach/es on this team.. For Varsho specifically coming over from a different org where he could hit to this one and now he can't.. I would rather have a s*** 1st half and good 2nd half than vice versa.. This can't go on this bad all season... (most likely)
  6. Bo is swinging like he wants to go to the club house and get a foot rub..
  7. I truly think it is our fnnnn hitting coaches, or we have three of them and no consistent message or wrong message. How can a guy who could hit, go to not hitting so radically on a new team, unless he was told to make changes which have become significant to his lack of success..
  8. I truly think we could do both if we target guys in their FA year or with large salaries.. Basically use assets for SP and $$$ for a RHH. We might have to eat the cost of some other s*** contract.. However, that is how I think we will have to compete at the deadline. We don't have the assets to go H2H against Baltimore, Tampa etc. Our strength I believe, is that we can take on $ they can't.
  9. I think we need another SP. To many variables with Ryu. Kickuchi has never shown he can be good in the 2nd half. We had one good start from Manoah against Detroit. That is all assuming no injuries to a current SP. We need depth to even make it to the playoffs... Then we can worry about needing only a few SPs.
  10. Anyone have a BA subscription? If so, do you mind posting the latest in season prospect rankings (I think it came out today). Thanks in advance
  11. How long has Manoah had that sleeve on throwing arm?
  12. That was only during the 2019 NBA playoffs.. I eat a lot more fiber now
  13. So 5 times per season. So if they did it 4 times in 2023 then they start at 0 for 2024 and they have another 5?
  14. Isn't there a limit to how many times you can call a guy up and down? Not that Manoah is even close to that limit. However, if it goes bad tonight and they send him back down, that will count as #2 correct? Isn't it like 5 times after a certain amount of games played? IRCR....?
  15. What does a good start tomorrow even tell us if the assessment is results oriented? He is pitching against Detroit... So he does well and then goes and get bombed by the next team he faces..? If it is mental, physical, mechanics, maybe it will tell us something, but I assume they could have assessed that in the minors... Basically, I am worried about a false positive.
  16. I think that was a question Hazel. Give the man a foot rub!!
  17. Good win/s.. But in a one run game you can't do s*** like Vlad did.......
  18. Their TV ratings are pretty good. They just have the stadium issue.
  19. Dude, I was worried, am worried about Kirk’s body type for over two years now. You don’t think the other GMs who are much more savvy then some Dude on a message board were also worried about the 5 pin bowling ball turning into a 10 pin and that effecting Kirk’s trade value..???
  20. They would have traded Kirk if they could have. They were not getting s*** for him or Jansen. Having slappy behind the plate would not make a difference in where the TEAM is at right now.
  21. All their moves in the off season were for run prevention. Trading Teo for Swanson, case in point. Signing Bassitt and KK, trading for Varsho. Varsho was one of the best defensive CF in the league, not the best CF hitter. The only pure offensive move was Belt. You can’t keep making key errors and win. You never saw the old Rays teams or Yankee make the mistakes we do in the field and on the bases. The pitch calling in some spots has been highly questionable. This is not coming from me, but the homey Rogers team or when I listen to the opposition team’s broadcast. All these little things add up when highly competitive. We need to play clean baseball to give ourselves a chance..
  22. So: Yesterday the Jays scored six runs and still lost. Bad base running last night. Today, we didn’t score as many runs, but a key two base error in a pivotal part of the game. Also, same damn pitch to Verdugo as last time he hit a game winning HR. I mean first pitch HR, he was obviously sitting on it. Swanson is worn out and others, which stems from SP issues. The Red Sox run rampant over our pen/catchers. I saw it when I was at Fenway and today. We have to control the extra base. Offense is an easy issue to blame, there are other key issues at play here. There are teams that have been more offensively challenged then we are who have been very successful. Run prevention!!
  23. When coming from 2nd you would always wave someone unless you know 100% they are going to stop at 3b. You wave them so they make the turn. Then the 3b coach needs to set up down far enough down the line so that the runner can see them once they make the turn and know to stop or go. We were literally just working on this on my son’s little league team a month or so ago. Both first base and third. The three plays and signs by the coach are run straight through the base then turn in so you are out of play. Make a turn towards 2b and depending on situation go to 2b or come back to the bag at 1b. The coach is supposed to be giving signs and verbal commands. We tell the kids every drill. Pick up your base coaches, stop looking at the ball, especially on infield hits. Pick up your base coaches!!!! I can’t tell from the video where Rivera put up the stop sign. However, it would be normal to windmill so he makes the turn at 3b and then heads down the line a little vs sliding into 3b just stopping on the bag. Once Bo makes the turn he needs to pick up the coach also, who should be down the line in front of him.
  24. For all the criticism of Varsho, Varsho is not out on that play, nor is KK. They are both damn good base runners.
