    You can’t talk about the team’s low ERA and then not acknowledge the significant defensive improvements the FO have have made in most cases that is a significant factor in the low team ERA

    That is what I meant, I probably just did a word salad. I meant to say, I wonder if the Jays made a claim for him hoping it would have got to them. I think Cleveland is a better avenue to consistent playing time then the Jays anyway. So, I suspect Laureano is good with it.

    The totality of the situation and context should always be considered in sentencing. TA started the issue that led to JRam getting in his face and I think MLB knows that. Hence TA got double and not just for coming back on the field (at least I hope).

    This is a great pick-up by the Guardians. I would really like to know if the Blue Jays were planning on claiming him if he made it to us. I thought he would be a great fit for us.

    JRam initiated the verbal incident due to an episode of incidents by TA, one of which TA had already been warned by the Umps. Apparently TA said let's fight.. Takes it from verbal to physical.. If I hear someone say let's fight, I am squaring up to be prepared/defend myself also. The key thing in this is the person who takes it from verbal to physical is the instigator. The old sticks and stones, but names will never hurt me thing.

    If you knock a guy out, or get your ass kicked, if the fighting is in self defense, your success or lack of should not be relevant to your' penalty.
