  1. Josh, give us the true non PC answer. You are a South Florida kid from a sunny, low tax (no state tax) state with beaches and beer in every convience store and gas station, concealed carry etc. When you and your buddies hear/have an inclination that they will be drafted by the Blue Jays, foreign country, reputation cold, high taxes, pain in the ass to buy beer etc what is the initial reaction? You were playing ball about as far away as you could get from Naples in Vancouver, and if you make it to the show you will not be as far, but still far and a different country. Do you even think about things like that or are you just super stoked to be in any MLB teams system? True no PC answer. Assuming the Blue Jays did not exist, which was your dream team to be drafted by? Have you ever been to a Canadian strip club and realized Canada doesnt have singles and been like, I am not making enough money to be putting $5 in the garter of every dancer, what am I supposed to do? I am sure more excellent journalistic opportunties will come to me I can share. Oh, and a Happy New Year and have a great 2019 you filthy animals!
  2. However, they already have $20 million a year tied up with just Harvey and Cahill, you think they add another $30-$40 Million a year? on top of their existing commitments?
  3. Listen to Derek Holland’s Kermit the frog imitation.. awesome👍 😃
  4. Here you go..
  5. And from that day forward, in the small kingdom of Canada, Dec 28th was known as the day of the boner. All Canadians had a boner that day, even the woman and non conforming to typical gender identity them had boners. There has not been so many boners in Canada since the Dickey press conference.
  6. Yea, except the 2 guys we were talking about are already combat vets and did fine. Why would a guy who has tours in Afganistan need to back to basic. If you are putting those guys in AAA it is because of roster flexibilty etc, not because they are not ready or that pitching in the International league is going to give them better development then in the MLs.. Lets just be honest as to why they would start in AAA.
  7. Love the list, just think that wishing for Stroman and Sanchez to both be aces again is probably wishing too much... I would rather trade them while we have some value...
  8. I agree 100% on depth, I just don't think we need to block their development in a non- competitive year. I have a feeling we are not going to see many more Shoemaker types for SP and it will all be AAAA Matt Latos types that you can put in AAA. If you can have veteran SP depth in AAA, why not bring up those guys. Works the same if you bring them up in April, no issues with that... I just don't see the need for any more development in AAA for either of those two and think it would be more beneficial in the majors this year since it is "supposedly" going to be non-competitive.
  9. Why put SRF and Panone in AAA.. What will that do for them? They did relatively fine in the majors last year. Even though it was late season, they were battling playoff teams fighting for the Division or teams trying to make a WC.. The best way to learn about combat, is to be in Combat. A lot of people here are assuming Stroman, Sanchez and now Shoemaker will be better pitchers than our young guns. Neither of those three did anything last yr either due to injuries or performance to make me believe they will pitch better then what we got from SRF and Pannone. I still think Borucki is out best pitcher if you go by performance and not names or legacy.
  10. Did you put “Truth” just so we knew Jon Morosi hadnt hijacked your account or that info was from him 😉
  11. Hope he can recover and stay healthy.. Not sure Rogers center is a great fit for him. A few years ago he had the lowest ground ball rate among QS.. Of course, I remember being very worried about Estrada pitching at Rogers Center when he came over, turned out that was a really good trade. Goal = Trade Deadline return 😃
  12. Lots of body and fat shaming going on in that😉 Love your love for Riley👍👍👍😃
  13. I liked the part about wOBA.. As I mentioned, in a previous post, I think it has some flaws, but it was interesting and sparks discussion.
  14. He stays and is in contention for ROY, only to be beat out by Vlad the baseball impaler.. They will start him 6 inning or in non close games or mop up duty, he will do well, they will start progressively moving him into later innings and closer games. Innings limit will be in the conversation because he will be doing well... He will stick and be a key part of the 2020 roster... 69.2 IP 68 games 2.58 ERA 75 Ks 16 BB ERA+ 159 WAR 1.9 SO9 9.7 WHIP 0.919
  15. Riley Adams was my sleeper pick in that Legit Prospects or Busts thread on here somewhere.. Go Riley!
  16. Lucky King, bunch of elitists.. They will never offer the Harold Reynolds of BJMB an invitation..
  17. LOL... If they don't want Stroman would they take Martin for 3b?
  18. So guys my 2 cents for what it is worth... 2 cents American, so it might be worth more than Jim's 2 cents The opening wasn't as solid as past episodes, I think you guys basically admit that.. However, I think it is important. I was totally lost as to what the heck you were talking about.. Also, just like any book, news cast, radio show, you want to catch the listeners interest (hook) right off the bat, even if it is just a tease and then you put filler in until you get to the hook. If I had never heard a BJScouts pod cast, prior, I am not sure I would have stuck around. i.e new fans, expanding the base. You guys had some really good openings previously. Sounded very professional, had a hook and kept my interest. You also mentioned this.. Just want to put some emphasis on it from my point of view. I enjoyed/enjoy listening to YOU guys, talk about baseball. There are tons of shows talking about baseball. I think you need to continuously build up your personalities, antidotes about personal life, keep making people want to listen to YOU GUYS talk baseball. This one felt a little bit more like generic guys talking baseball. Except for Boxy's dad, that was cool I agree with his dad, should curtail the cussing, not because I am prude, just so I can play it on the Beats or Bose with my young son playing near by. I enjoy it guys, don't get me wrong. You have set a high (good) bar, now you have to keep it. Lastly, throw Luciano in the deep end. I agree you don't need to be so age fixated and that he has to go through the process blah, blah.. There are a lot of 18 yr old studs out there. I think RJ Barrett could be in the NBA right now and do well. Osuna is also a good example. He was playing professional ball in Mexico at 16, that is a very high level. Don't coddle him..
  19. Great tenor also, the best. RIP
  20. Agree, I think the minimum is now over $650k USD. I was wondering when this was recorded? As you mentioned, Graveman went to the Cubs and Romano was traded to Texas.
  21. So in weighted on base, it says a single is more valuable then a walk- all those statistics are averaged out over multiple games. In a tight game, is a 1 pitch AB where the ball goes off a defensive swing and squibs down the 3rd base line for an infield single, equal to a 13 pitch worked walk? In both situations you have a runner on 1st. One AB took 1 pitch, the other 13 pitches to 1 batter. Increasing pitch count, showing his repoitore, tiring the pitcher out mentally and physically, letting the on deck guy get a good look at his stuff. I was cracking up when someone said work Luciano ragged until he is a broke man and then give him back to the Royals and say here you go, thanks. LMFAO.. Still cracking up about that and have a huge smile on my face writing this...
  22. Yea, saw that and the first thing that crossed my mind is how f***ing bad is Morosi.. I hope people on Twitter are trolling the heck out of him..
  23. Hate it when I am right.. (It appears I might be anyway)...
  24. I love your list and hope Santa brings you all that you ask! Merry Christmas!
