  1. Only surprised they named him prior to his start... I thought Carlos was going to wait until after he pitched today.. Probably just to stop him from bitching..
  2. Huh! That brings back some memories. I had forgotten all about him. I think I recall you making your case back on Scout, now that you mention it. Maybe you are right.. I will stick to my guns that from a purely fan point of view (entertainment) getting behind your team. I would much rather watch Tellez at this point than Morales..
  3. Great rebuttal counselor. Does that work in court?
  4. His OBP was just over league average. Not super, but not bad. Definetly brought up by his BA more so then walks, however there is nothing showing he didnt belong... He might not have walked a lot, yet, but compensated with hits..
  5. Dude in his 70 ML ABs he had a .943 OPS and a 154 Ops+
  6. Yea, because our 2018 team with Morales, Travis, Pillar and Maile did so well and without those guys we would be... Well, not worse then we would be with the above mentioned. I realize, Biggio and Bichette have never played AAA. I am not arguing they should break camp. Tellez on the other hand did fine in the majors when given his shot. Reward him until he either proves he can stick or needs to be sent down.
  7. I think you are getting confused. We were discussing entertainment value, i,e who you would rather pay, might motivate you to go see a ballgame. I am not saying they should all break camp with the Jays.. However, to that point, we did just fine in September compared to the rest of last year in September with a few of those guys in the line-up.. There was zero regression from what the team was when we had all the veterans, and they (the kids) were a hell of a lot more fun to watch.
  8. Blair is right! From Sportsnet: Still, some Blue Jays pitchers are at least intrigued by pitching to help the shift. Ryan Borucki, who had his best outing of the spring on Sunday (and let’s cut the B.S.: Ryan Borucki needs to be on this Opening Day roster) Said: “As we get deeper into the games mean more, yeah, I might start to be a little more conscious [of] where guys are and pitch to the shift. But right now … we’re just learning a lot of stuff. I haven’t pitched with the shift a lot to this point in my career. Right now I think I just need to pitch my game.”
  9. I will grant you this with Pillar... But not Morales and Travis vs Tellez, Bichette, Biggio etc or even Maile vs Reese..
  10. You cannot use 2015,2016, 2017 Travis numbers to make case for him in 2019. I might as well use Jose Bautista numbers in 2015, 2016 to make a case for him in 2019. For one. I was a HUGE Travis fan, I thought him not being in the line-up was a key reason we lost the 2015 LCS and also played a big role having him injured in 2016. I was also an advocate of Travis breaking camp with the club out of ST when the consensus was he should start the season in AAA his first year with us. Travis's career WAR and OPS is totally weighted prior to the Travis of 2019 or even 2018. That OPS and WAR you are citing was from just over ONLY 200 games played between 2015-2017. Travis was not putting up those numbers last year and he was finally injury free, so no excuses there.. he only put up a 0.6 WAR last year and he played 1/3 of his total career games last year. Additionally, and very important for our pitching, Travis's D sucks.. He doesn't turn the double play well, has a weak arm, lacks in range, has bad footwork and routes. His numbers last year do not compensate enough for his s*** D to have him in the line-up. I don't believe Travis can play any other position effectively. Therefore, he is a s***** 2b only who is not hitting anymore. Compare him to Drury and LGJ who I believe can effectively play multiple positions, and hit as well or better and even with LGJ problems on D, he has room to improve, has a strong arm and play SS. Travis is only regressing and getting older with more injuries.. Tellez: Tellez hit through the minors until he ran into a bad spell. Very well could have been mental with his Mom and all.. He hit in the majors in Sept, (against Rays, Yankees, Red Sox etc, not just AAA and AAAA scrubs) he continues to hit. He was for the exception of his bad spell in the minors, a hitter.. Morales hit for only half a season last year... Does everyone forget his horrible start... Not hustling down the line.. Tellez is a feel good story/player you want to cheer for.. Morales, can go play golf all year for all I care..
  11. I actually agree with 95% of this.. Except you spelled ACEucki wrong.. My point is from an entertainment point of view, it really sucks to have to suffer through Morales or Travis until/if one of them get hurt... It seems like a coronation instead of putting the most entertaining product on the field.
  12. Well, I understand and agree with Biggio.. I think Tellez would stick on the ML team now, I think Bichette could use a few months in AAA, but doesn't need the whole year (or until September). I also understand Rogers doesn't know or care about the Danger family and one game is nothing. However, I don't think many casuals are looking at anyone on this team to go see except for Vlad whenever he gets here.. If guys like me who are pretty dedicated baseball guys feel this way, I am sure it is not only me who feels the same.
  13. Jim, even though you are a pinko commie, I have your back on this one... Like in the culminating scene of one of my favorite baseball movies when I was a kid, The Bad News Bears II, When they are in the Astrodome and the major leaguers are about to take the field and cut off the little league game.... Let the kids play!!
  14. Clogging the base-paths is a thing!
  15. Whoooshaaaa
  16. Fine for you to say. However, Rogers is running a business. I as a consumer in the demo that they savor, have no issue spending my money to see exciting guys, even with the knowledge that we might lose. However, that chance is not made less by a bunch of boring left overs that I have no desire to see. If I knew in advance the line-up of the games, no way I buy tickets to see Morales, Travis play s*** D etc.. I will pay to see Tellez hit, Alford, run throw and hit.. Bo, Biggio and ACEucki pitch.
  17. The September team was much more fun to watch with those guys in the line-up, and the team did better than prior in the year with the "veterans". I fully understand the "mirage" that September baseball creates.. However, a lot of that was negated, since a majority of our games were against teams jockeying for first place in the AL East or battling for a wild card spot/top spot in their division. We are not talking switching out a Josh Donaldson for a rook. We are talking about Pillar, Morales, Travis would be in the discussion if healthy.. Baseball is entertainment. We do not have much shot in 2019 with either line-up.. So, we might as well have one more entertaining..
  18. That actually sounds really good! The hot-dog, the cheap beer, the stadium. I tried last year to catch a Bisons game when I was in Toronto and the Buffalo area. However it was the IL All-Star Break when I was around. I NEVER in a million years thought I would say that living in Buffalo sounds really good this summer
  19. From a fan point of view who would you rather pay your hard earned money to go see or sit down and watch on TV etc.. 1) Lourdes Gurriel Jr., 2B 2) Brandon Drury, 3B 3) Justin Smoak, 1B 4) Kendrys Morales, DH 5) Randal Grichuk, RF 6) Teoscar Hernandez, LF 7) Kevin Pillar, CF 8) Danny Jansen, C 9) Freddy Galvis, SS or 1) Lourdes Gurriel Jr., 2B 2) Brandon Drury, 3B 3) Justin Smoak, 1B 4) Rowdy Tellez 5) Anthony Alford, RF 6) Teoscar Hernandez, LF (Mckinney (Davis or Pompey 4th OF). 7) Randal Grichuk, CF 8) Danny Jansen, C (Reese vice Maile) 9) Bo Bichette, SS From someone who spent over $500 USD to go one Jays game last year with my family.. I am NOT interested in seeing a line up with guys who are only there because they are not tradable etc..e
  20. I hope you are right. However, with the veterans currently on the team. Where can Tellez, and Biggio play? I hope the hell they have the huevos to bring Bo up prior to Sept, like April
  21. If people ask why baseball is boring and what needs to be done to make the game more exciting. Because of contracts, service time, options etc, we are probably going to have to see a line up at the ML level of: Morales, Galvis, Pillar, Maile, Travis if he didnt get hurt/or recovers. f*** that! I would much rather tune in and pay my money to go to the park to watch these guys any day of the week. I have felt that way since mid-point last year. I want Tellez in the damn lineup!!
  22. Late May best case, problaby June..
  23. Too bad you can't have Barstool sports with the FG data...
  24. He is barely 20 yrs old and already is starting to rack up IL time. Does not bode well with that body for the future... Trade him while he has max value
