    Unions advocate for issues, however the two examples you have are laws that were passed by legislative bodies, not parts of a CBA. Child labor laws are an international issue and there are international laws. The work week is set by the law of whatever country etc. Unions also force inefficiency and waste, increase costs that have nothing to do with worker's rights. This isn't the 1920s anymore where Unions had their place...

    He was awarded a double on the score sheet. He was thrown out at 3rd trying to extend to a triple.. I was replying to the "quality" of the hits yesterday. I am not saying he has been tearing it up since day one. Fact of the matter is, he got two hits yesterday and 2 RBIs. It totally depends on the players strengths and familiarization as to which is easier to play SS, vs. 2b. Some players like making the throw more direct to 1B. Yes, you need more range at SS and a stronger arm, however, when turning two you can run straight at 2b and make a straight throw etc. It has been pointed out repeatedly that Gurriel has more issues with the throws/angles footwork at 2b. Ask Gurriel, I will translate for you. From every report I have seen, he prefers and is more comfortable and has shown to be better at SS vs. 2b.

    I am a result oriented person, not so much how you got there.. The fact of the matter, irrespective of exit velocity.. He got two hits, one a double and 2 RBIs. He very well could have Kd, our first run was because a hitter put a ball in play and the 3b made an error..Gurriel put balls in play. It is early, as mentioned I think he hits better when he is SS.. I feel 2b is not his strength and his D gets in his head at the plate. Just like when EE was 3B(E5). We have given many hitters much more leash... Still early... He will come around...

    I don't agree with this unless it is in vacuum. As far a a team concept I would rather have my guy in this case with a higher OBP then power. The above example only accounts for runs this player creates. If we have guys like Vlad and Bichette on the Horizon, I want players on base for them to hit with for power rather then a guy who gets on base less but gets more doubles etc.

    If you read between the lines when you listen to Atkins, and a degree to Shapiro; Especially this AM when Atkins was talking about the Acuna extension comp. One, Acuna had a bunch of ML ABs.. Vlad zero.. But, all the other stuff, Atkins says is basically PC stuff for saying yea, we think he can hit, but Acuna is a CF in good shape and Vlad is a fat body probably going to get fatter... There is a real concern with aspects of Vlad apart from his bat..

    I find watching the opposing feed you get a better analysis of the team's weaknesses. The Rogers team (Radio and TV) is not allowed to be or just are not that critical of the team. Jerry Howorth spoke about this and what happened when he was critical of Reyes.. Double plays that should have been turned, swinging at balls way outside the zone, not playing heads up baseball, or not hitting cut off men, hustle down the line etc. Many times the Rogers teams will gloss over these things... The opposing broadcast crews call it as they see it.. It help me become more objective about the team and players.

    Unfortunately I do, I just don't see pre-game/anthem etc, or out of town updates, post game show, when they go to the studio where Zaun used to be.. Only the game y ya.

    If you listen to Atkins comments today.. I believe Socrates will be on the 25 and Alford will be at AAA tomorrow. Socrates has had sufficient AAA ABs, Alford has not is basically what Ross said.. Doesn't want Alford to be with the Club as a 4th OF. When he is with us wants him to be regular player.

Flipped for minor leaguer, Rodrigo Orozco. We flipped Socrates for someone else, or we traded Rodrigo for him??

    In his defense, they all have been pretty crappy.. We gave Grichuk and Morales a lot of rope last year.. EE always started off slow and had many problems at D when they were feeling him out at 3b.. I think his bat will come around.. I think the issue is he is a much better SS than 2b. I think his confidence or lack of on D affects his hitting. When they moved him over to SS last year he took off at the plate and did much better on D. 2b screws with him. Agree though.. need to take more pitches.. Bad AB to seal the deal yesterday..

    I disagree. What do you think his ML value is?? A 30 yr old CF with declining D, a career .297 OBP and a high K rate..

    Great initiative for starting the GDT Corporal. I was going to recommend you for Sergeant until someone else beat you to putting the line-ups out in your own GDT.. Maybe next promotion cycle.. Now drop and give me 20!!

    Vlad WILL BE our 1b.. . I think everyone agrees, including Vlad that he would play 3b for a bit, until he got too fat, slow etc and he would move to 1b. Well, gaining like 50 pounds kind of moves up that timeline... If the guy is gaining so much weight at age 19/20... He is screwed when he gets a few years older... 1b!

    They should probably bench Smoak tonight until he can get his head back. We shall see how Stroman does... I would play the kids tonight and let those with emotions sit tonight.. Get back at it tomorrow with a clear head.
