Damn,, Ole Dusty and the Astros are getting destroyed in the comments section of MLBtraderumors on FB... Every thing they are saying is on point, but, I feel kinda bad for Ole Dusty, even though I wouldn't want him within 10 country miles of my manager's position.

Dusty Baker is the fnnn worst possible choice that org could make... I am not even a Houston fan but what were they thinking.. Dusty Baker will meddle along in the reg season and blow it for you in the playoffs and is all about veterans playing over young etc even if they suck... I am going to all my Fantasy teams to dump all my Astros assets.. LOL Talk about a BS PC move! Arggg

In my experience if you look at a trade at that just moment in time, your immediate reaction will not be the same as a year, two or three later. Yes, your prospects are at the moment higher ranked and have more name recognition. I value very highly three of the four prospects I am getting and the pick. The fourth prospect Miller, is also very solid. I needed a Fletcher type player, everybody actually makes solid plays all position guys hard to acquire and value them quite highly, since everyone needs one/wants one, especially with roster limits. I was only interested in 1 or 2, MLB guys from various teams, and they were labeled untouchable, even for JF and KB. I also had roster space considerations. Not that I am wishing it on Pendelton4life, but if Bryant gets hurts/age regression, I end up having a Acuna/Trout CF, a Lindor SS and a young Kris Bryant 3b.. I believe the trade will look different in a few years. To add, the cost is already very high on 3 of the 4 prospects I received. I think if I waited longer and as they move up, which they will in rankings, they will become untouchable or cost prohibitive. I guess we all shall see..

I know I am the newbee. However, I am thinking from my experience so far in both my leagues that having two drafts might keep owners more engaged. Both my leagues there are owners that I have never spoke to as much as I have tried, for months, absenteeism holds up a lot of moves and takes some of the enjoyment out of the whole thing.. IMO part of the allure of Fantasy, is being the GM all year round and preparing for the season, not just putting guys in 3B, SP etc during the season..

Ok, I am here and available to deal with this mess. All this went down at the worst possible time since I got really busy and could not really respond or consider options. I will be responding to messages now and I am open to ideas from the league..

Jeff Kent was recognized as very very talented, in the short time he played for the Jays at the MLB level it was obvious. However, they had Roberto Alomar and needed a SP and Cone was a stud. They (Gillick) pulled the trigger and they won the WS. I have stated repeatedly I don't think Shatkins does that... They are all about sustainability which is good, but sometimes you have to look at the overall objective and pull the trigger.

I am now debating if I really want Urias and we would probably need to change up the MILB guy... I am mulling it.. Thanks for your offer and I will let you know.

I have been doing a lot of research on some of these players for my fantasy team, I am not going to say which ones here.. LOL. However, I always use multiple sources and try and look at an aggregate. IMO a number of those players are positioned in part because of name, hype, draft position, *upside that has not really shown yet. There are a number of guys way down the list should be higher IMO and some guys really high should be lower.. I think guys who will have a lot of power but high Ks and low OBP are valued higher then some guys I believe will be high OBP and avg but not as many Hrs etc... Which as you well know is important in 7X7. Just my opinion..
