  1. I prefer a little foreplay to see where we are at, get an idea if the person is willing to move a player and what are they looking for. If they give me a general idea, I can send some proposals that are at least in the ballpark or just need some tweaking etc. The only time I send a trade out of the blue is if the person never responds to PMs/is never on the site etc. At that point I do add a comment saying not sure what you are looking for since not able to discuss, but here is a starting point and I am flexible or this is all I have/am offering.
  2. I will go on record saying Jim had nothing to do with my post.
  3. I think even in my short time in this league everyone knows I like to trade, I am always open to proposals and enjoy discussing scenarios/trades basically 24/7. Having said that, not sure if I am the only one, or everyone is being shotgunned some of these proposals due to cuts coming up... But some of this s*** is bordering on insulting and me wondering what illicit substances you are on.. Is it just me because I am the new guy/no respect for my baseball acumen and people think I am easily taken advantage of? Or is everyone getting thrown s*** proposals sent their way?
  4. Ok, let me caveat my statement. He will be worth more, it is a piece that while at this exact moment of time is not as valuable at the ML level, in terms of overall ROI in the deal, I think Downs is worth more.
  5. Your boy Friedman and Co have some serious depth. Blue Jays had a guy at 2b that was blocking another 2b who was traded for a rental. Both should probably be in the HOF. I think the Yasiel Puig trade will go down as one of the best trades in recent memory.. (For the Dodgers). I stand by my opinion that the Red Sox did better with this iteration than the first one with the Twinkies. We can bookmark this post and revisit in a few years and see where we are at with Downs, Verdugo and Graterol. My money is on Downs...
  6. I value Downs upside higher than Verdugo and as franchise SS. If there were no money considerations involved, and the Red Sox could find any partner to trade Betts with for a young/prospect CF I think there are about 5, I might have chosen in front of Verdugo.. The Dodgers were the only team willing to take the salaries, not in their division and with decent prospects..
  7. Yes, he did, very much so... He has to be #1 in their system now, way ahead of Casas and IMO worth more than Verdugo..
  8. Same deal, just a SP and CF from Dodgers... No third Team for Red Sox.
  9. If I were the Red Sox I would say F$% Graterol and the Twins and just ask the Dodgers for Josiah Gray.. You have to wait a little longer but I think better in long run and don't need the Twins.. I would have asked for him in the first pace and kept the Twinkies out of it.
  10. Again, why though? He was in the pen end of last year and that is understandable with inning limits etc. This year, they could stretch him out in ST and make him a starter IF he was fully healthy and they thought he was destined to be a SP. The fact they were not, should raise questions...
  11. I think if the prospect is in the deal in the first place that is a prospect they really wanted and made sense and the other prospects did not. In this case, the Red Sox traded a SP and a CF and they got a pitcher and a CF back. The Twins have some decent OFs prospects etc but I am not aware of other Twins prospect pitchers equal to Graterol. The other thing, it was obvious to everyone the Twins were going to use Graterol as a RP vs SP and you have to ask your self if the team that knows him best is taking that approach.. Why??
  12. Players available for upgrades picks/waiver or prospect. Ryan ACEucki.. Jays 5th starter Kolby Allard, former Braves highly though of prospect traded to Texas at the Deadline Chris Martin- Will be in a position for saves and holds on a playoff team. High K rate!
  13. I am actually more pissed that all the teams knew but our own Blue Jays were too lazy to switch signs or do anything about it and we sacrificed our poor pitchers... That is not watching out for your people, setting your people up for success, and breeding a winning competitive culture..
  14. This is more like the Kris Bryant & Jack Flaherty trade vs the Ohtani trade. In The KB & JF trade, I thought we were getting pick 1-1. When the trade went through, it was actually 1-3. So, I would be like Boston and the other team would be like the Twinkies - Goods not as advertised. In my case, after much back and forth the other team (Twinkies) had to add a piece to compensate for the difference in 1-1 & 1-3. However, the other team didn't really have anything, I wanted and of equal value to compensate. Therefore, they had to reach out to another team, trade for a piece and then offer it to me in compensation. Much like real life, our deal was dependent on another deal with a third party going through. If one part failed, he whole house of cards came crashing down. I suspect, like exactly in my situation, the Twinkies will have to pony up something else for the Red Sox.. However, probably in the back of the Red Sox mind is that they are not going to find another team to take on the Price and Betts contract and give them something decent.. Very interesting situation and waiting to see what happens... I think the Twins have more leverage than the Red Sox.. But the Sox are in the right to ask for more if damaged goods..
  15. Good point. However, Gasol is only a year younger and was only acquired as a veteran defensive specialist and he made a huge difference with his D and to the team. I see Iguodala potentially being same type of boost.. I hope you are right... Apart from the Bucks obviously, Miami is the team that worries me most out of the East in the playoffs.
  16. Nada??? Miami got stronger? We are staying pat??
  17. Thanks! Do you foresee any openings/opportunities in either in the near future?
  18. LOD is not a Dynasty league, correct? Or am I mistaken?
  19. Any MIA owners, owners who want to give up the team or last resort anyone wanting a Co-Manager?
  20. YES!! Finally a man on point and showing the respect I deserve!!
  21. If you are going to compare me to a countries leader with bad hair, at least compare me to the one known for making deals and success
