  1. He is ok for a spot start every now and then against the right teams. I fear he will get exposed if you make him a day to day SP, which is pretty much what I thought would happen pre-season with Ryu's injury history/age/ second half performance..
  2. Don't have to face Joe Ryan either which is pretty big also..
  3. In this day and age you should be very happy to get 6 plus innings from an SP and a 3.60 Team ERA is very solid... In leagues with QS you just earned 2.
  4. Anyone want Chris Stratton RP for a pick? He gets saves and holds..
  5. Edward Cabrera brought a no/hitter into the 6th in Coors. Miami is so stacked for pitching..
  6. Hey Jim, I have a SS surplus if you need one with Wonder boy on the IL
  7. Is the FantasyNewb Team a ghost ship or is someone running it for him?
  8. How the hell does MLB think it is a good strategy to have teams have an off day on a Friday. Especially on a long weekend!? MLB is so screwed up in their media/marketing/fan retention…
  9. Blue Jays were 30th in RISP… We all agree they will get better and are better. But to gloss over their struggles by showing numbers in an aggregate is being obtuse.
  10. Did Laika get the wrong drive through order at Tim Hortons this morning?
  11. If there was zero merit, why did Springer feel the need to comment, after a losing streak/hitting slump. It was the 2022 JD moment when he said this isn’t the try league. Springer is not the issue, agree there.
  12. My contention is the Team started the year with the right approach. They were doing well and winning. There were some guys in a slump, but that is to be expected to start the season. Then they started to get some big HRs and walk -offs etc. There was a lot of celebrating and guys being the hero. This euphoria became contagious and they lost their way. They need to go back to the start of the season approach.
  13. It is not hit the ball “ softer either”. It is trying to go the other way or up the middle instead of trying to pull the ball etc for a RHH. The objective should be to get a hit not just a HR. The HRs will always come with a good approach. Listen to how many players talk about they just went to the plate with a good approach and they ended up hitting a HR even though that was not their objective in the AB. Springer is right and it is noticeable. Too many guys are going up there trying to hit a HR instead of get a hit with as much EV as possible.
  14. If only posting frequency equaled quality baseball opinions ,you would be a baseball genius. I see more wrong bad takes on players and what it takes to win from you then just about any poster on here. I didn’t say play small ball you dufus! I said they can’t have the approach you want to get a HR every time at bat. The HRs will come with a good hitting approach. This is a quote from Springer who is actually a professional ball player and a winner!! “Don’t try to hit the five-run homer if there’s nobody on base. Slow down, stay within ourselves, because there’s a long way to go and a lot of time to right the ship.”
  15. Get rid of the jacket, it is the Devil. Being very serious. Look at the approach to start the season and go the other way or up the middle, just keep the line moving.. Then HR fever took over and was contagious.. Stop the stirring the drink s*** or whatever it is also for a double in the 3rd inning... Get Dante fake papers or whatever you need to do and get him back with the hitters.. This to me is not a talent or where they hit in the lineup issue (though can be part of it , pressure or wanting the big HR). This is a mental approach /mindset issue IMO. The goal should be keep the line moving, whether by single, walk, double etc, opposite field, go up the middle.. Too much trying to hit a HR... It killed us in the playoffs and part of 2016 and is killing us now apart from the odd game we come across s***** pitching..
  16. Not going to lie. I normally do have a lot of consternation over making drops. I get in a paralysis by analysis loop on occasion, unless the decision is a clear no brainer.
  17. You realize Owen Wilson is not in Old School, but Luke Wilson is, right? Or am I more confused then you are? lol
  18. You should just make it Vaughn and Wilson, that way you get to include Old School also;)
