    Why is everyone acting so surprised with Kikuchi.. He had one half of a good season. Unlike Flaherty when he was younger, it was the first half. His second half sucked and there were mechanical and velocity issues. A three year contract ( I am sure forced by market dynamics) and relying on Pete Walker magic beans and a Robby Ray .2 miracle is not good strategic planning IMO.

    Infuriating. Obviously, the boat driver had no idea what the f*** they were doing. Totally preventable and an unfortunate perfect storm of f***-ups/bad luck for that to happen. Damn, it is going to hurt regardless, but soo avoidable

    Why was Bassit scratched from his start tonight and placed on IL Red flag with white cross but it is a non-injury issue???

    The team might say Soto is only 23 and Ohtani is 27... So a 10 year contract.... One is over at 33 the other at 37... Just saying what the team trying to save money might use as counter to a comparison... Even though as you mentioned with the pitching aspect not really apples to apples..

    I get it... From a marketing, fan, sex appeal standpoint JRod wins out... Just from a do what's right by your players point of view. You have a guy who has been carrying the Team on his shoulders all season, and a lot last season and even in the brief time he played with them after the trade from San Diego vs. a guy who has been doing it for a month. I get it though... The All-Star game is an entertainment event within an entertainment business... Just sucks to be a really outstanding high performing employee consistently and get overshadowed for a proffessional award by the new guy who has had a good month...

    France has a 156 wRC+ for the whole season. His offensive value on Fangraphs is 19.8 to 10.7 for JRod.. France just gets killed on the defensive side vs a CF and he is still basically tied for WAR. Regardless, I am not going to dispute your last sentence saying JRod is the better player going FWD.. I am going to stick to my assertion that if the Mariners get one player to represent them at the 2022 All Star game, it should be France, all helium etc aside.

    I am worried you might be right about Bednar.. However, there is a history of Cherington leveraging good RPs for future assets at the deadline. I think we shoud hope Seattle and Detroit fall out of it far and quick. Both teams have multiple nice RP arms that we might be able to aquire...

    1. I thought this is in the context of who from Seattle should represent at the All Star game. 2. I am not assessing this as who do I want as my keystone player for the next 10 years or who I want on my rebuilding Dynasty team. You have a lot of Fantasy shares in JRod and use this board to pump up your investments, I get it. Full disclosure I am heavly invested in France and would do the same. However, if Seattle gets one player to represent at the All- Star game this year, by what metric are you going to tell France to stay home and send JRod?

    Offensively France has a higher wRC +, wOBA, OBP, AVG, xWOBa and they are tied in WAR. However, remember WAR can be deceptive. David Ortiz always had waaaaay less WAR then other far inferior players..

    I agree the better team won last night. What I am saying is, let's keep our eye on the prize and not let that exciting win gloss over that there are some serious underlying problems with the Team that have been, and will be exposed when playing better competition..

    No there not. They are also missing Duran, their leadoff hitter recently and offensive spark plug. They are also missing and expecting back in July, Hernandez a starter and everyday player and hence they are giving Jackie Bradley jr playing time.. They are also expecting, Nathan Evoldi, Whitlock and Barnes back in July. Regardless, last night in the 9th, even having just Houck would have probably led to a different result..

    CD's thoughts for the day: How can Salvador Perez play everyday when not injured and why can't Kirk? There is like an 11 yr age gap... The pen sucks. We need more pitching in general. Captain Obvious. However, the deadline is August 2nd this year. Too far away in baseball time to wait IMO. We need to make some moves now/sooner, or we will be paying for it in September.. Don't all get boners about beating a depleted Red Sox Team at home. Not the same Team we will see next time in Fenway.. Carry on! Bednar or bust!!!

    Your not wrong and they were talking about what if the Jays play the Red Sox in the playoffs today on MLB radio. In addition. Duran was thier spark plug recently, hitting at the top of the lineup. He went 4/4 the other day with a couple of SBs. Having said that.. One shouldn't have to sacrafice personal convictions for a 3 game series in June, which in the big picture is a blip.

    Welp... You could tell Seabold was rattled before he pitched to LGR... He can't be so obvious in his body language.. He will need to learn to control his composure... In MLB, they see that body language and it is like blood in the water to sharks and the ump is not going to do you any favors..

    Ok, that's enough runs thanks. I started Seabold on two of my Fantasy teams tonight (because I have big balls) and that is enough damage to his line thanks Let's just have some good pitching and run prevention! *** But.... If we are going to score more runs.... I also have Bo and Teo on my Fantasy Teams.. So those two need to step up!!!!
