  1. I'd really like to get Brad Ziegler. Mostly so that we can't face him anymore cause grounding into DP's against him was infuriating.
  2. Wellington Castillo non-tendered by Arizona. Mike Hazen doing his best impression of Dave Stewart.
  3. Chris Carter has "Baltimore" written all over him.
  4. I mean, we're probably in the running for Fowler as it is with Reddick gone. It's not like us signing him is impossible. $60-75 million over 4-5 years seems like it might get it done to get him. I recognize that a lot of teams want him, but it's not out of the realm of possibility we land him. Maybe landing both Blevins and Boone is unrealistic. Rather Blevins and then try to get Brad Zieglar for a little cheaper anyways. That's not terribly unrealistic. Fill up the rest of the bullpen with Benoit and maybe bring up Conner Greene as a bullpen guy like they did with Sanchez in 2014. White Sox are rebuilding. Is Adam Eaton really that unrealistic a target? If we trade Stroman and maybe 1-2 top prospects, you can land him. Eaton is controllable on a team friendly deal until 2021. He's well worth it. In the mean time, stretch out Biagini as a starter. Yeah this'll make our rotation weaker, but a top 3 of Sanchez-Happ-Estrada is still very very good.
  5. Ideal offseason: Trade for Eaton Sign Fowler Sign Holliday for 1B and rotate between him and Morales at 1st when needed Sign Benoit, Blevins, and Logan
  6. Eaton's gonna cost an arm and a leg that I don't quite know Atkins/Shapiro would be willing to give up. They value prospects a lot. If they can get Eaton with Stroman being the main piece, I'd do that trade in a heartbeat. Do that and stretch out Biagini as a starter.
  7. MLB Network RadioVerified account ‏@MLBNetworkRadio "#Yankees are going to get either Encarnacion or Cespedes. They may get both, and that wouldn't surprise me." - @JimBowden_ESPN
  8. What would we realistically have to give up to get someone like Adam Eaton? Would Stroman, Urena and Greene be enough? We have Zuech, Harris and SRF to make up for Greene. And then stretch out Biagini as a starter.
  9. Well then. Fowler it is.
  10. Honestly, I'm sure Bruce is a last resort in case someone outbids us for Reddick. A lot of teams are after Reddick, so it's not terrible to have a fallback. I really want Reddick though. He fits us like a glove.
  11. I say we go all out and trade for Tebow. He can play 1st, right?
  12. I thought they were strapped for cash. Only team that it makes sense for to sign Edwin is the Astros imo. They can afford to give up a pick because their farm is already loaded, plus they can afford it.
  13. Even if Saunders offensive drop-off was due to an injury in the second half, he's a liability on the field. That's a good enough reason for this front office to shy away from signing him. Getting Reddick would be really really nice. Hoping for some good news in the coming days about that.
  14. I don't know if I see payroll increasing past $170 million. I think that's the ceiling here. Even that's not a given. Might be 160-165.
  15. Potentially 3 first round draft picks next season. Got me foaming at the mouth here. Sign Reddick and lets do this.
  16. That's $31 million spent in the offseason already just on the 1B/DH positions alone, and also not accounting for the outfielder(s) we need and bullpen we need to shore up. Fowler or Reddick aren't gonna come cheap either. I'm just saying, $20 million for signing Edwin doesn't seem like the most efficient use of funds here. I would much rather we target someone like Holliday or Pearce to play 1B. Not as good individuals hitters as Edwin, but we don't need them to be if we have a better balanced team. Plus they'll come for less than half the cost of Edwin.
  17. Good. Now if only some of the fans could too. Thanks man. Long time lurker. Figured it was time to join. Exciting times to be posting on here. Offseason's gonna be fun.
  18. I really don't know if Edwin is the way to go at this point. If we spend 20-25 million on him, that's approximately 40 million tied up in our 1B/DH positions alone. We still need to spend on the bullpen and the outfield. It's time to let Edwin go.
  19. Jays were arguably a fringe Top 10 farm system before this. This outta change that. We have to be ranked up there next season.
  20. Hey, at least he won't have to deal with inherited baserunners if he's starting.
  21. Ideally would love Fowler over Reddick for the outfield, but I don't see this FO giving up a pick to get him. The thing with Reddick is he'll more than likely need to be platooned. If that's the case, that's an expensive platoon piece. All that being said, Morales + Reddick + 2 compensatory picks + Holliday would be a more than successful offseason.
  22. Any interest in Matt Holliday as our primary 1B? He can come cheap and without a long commitment.
