    I find this thread interesting. It's always about having these guys play the whole year and what they did last year. Jansen is not as good as his last years number show. 2nd base (assuming they are not using Espy) is below average hitting by far. Maybe Ryu comes back in August or before. Maybe Kikuchi can do something every now and then. I am worried about the offence. Bo swings at everything and it showed. VGJ had an off year and I hope it was such. Romano had a terrible stretch and that worries me. There are 3 seasons in Baseball. Getting to the All-Star game (kind of an extended pre-season and warmup, getting to the trade deadline, then having real baseball. To me, the Jays did 2 things. Changed the chemistry on the bench and added some much needed speed. OK, now you can kill me!

    There are a few things that are not mentioned here. The jays have really upgraded their ability to steal bases which has been missing for a long time. Thats an offensive positive I really liked Teo, but he was starting to miss a step here and there and is in his last year before FA. Seems like everyone has Biggio/Merrifield at second. Why not Espy? His bat is way better with similar great defense. I believe he is highly under rated. Lastly, I believe the bench has been very divided the past few years. Getting rid of the clown (LGJ) and his click is going to help make a better team. IMHO.

    It HAS been fun to watch this summer but the time has come. Still 1 or 2 years away. Need serious relief pitching. Lordes is a clown and should be shown a different stage. Montoya is a joker as well. I really liked Riley.

    What do you think it would cost to have Harper? I really like the idea. The Jays are young and Harper is only 26. I think 2 years from now the Jays could be quite good and until then exciting to watch. Further, the Jays need a face, one who is an everyday player and ranks in the top of the league. Pillar, Stroshow and Sanchez just can't do it and won't be around for long. Vlad jr doesn't speak any of Toronto's first 3 languages so he won't help Hazel or numbnuts. Harper is smart, respected and shows professionalism. He gets it! Just sayin.....

    True. I thought that any team that picks him up reduces the $38m salary owed by whatever they pay Tulo. Also, would a new team (contract) not be responsible for his final option in 2021?
