  1. Another game with some real ugly at bats for the Jays. Watching them, it looks like every opponent's starter is a candidate for the Cy Young.
  2. Stripling looking composed out there. He had some bad luck .....but never let it bother him one bit. He is bringing it.
  3. Blue Jays need to wake up.
  4. Seems like when he needs a hit, he gets it. He has hit more than one game winning RBI. That seems to suggest to me that when he wants to - he can cut his swing down and get it done. So while he is working it out, he is still productive.
  5. Yes, sure luck has some to do with it. But I do think that defensive plays and Romano and the rest of the bullpen has something to do with it also. A lot of good defensive plays also factored into the wins. But I guess if Springer does not make that catch yesterday in the 9th ....they still win? The team overall is playing much better D this year....and guess what it does matter. It DOES impact the other teams ability to score and when in close games...it can be the difference.
  6. He's working out. For someone who is working it out he still managed double digits RBIs in a month...so, I think I am fine with him finding that right blend of power and contact.
  7. I hope not. That would only water down the rotation. Right now, 60% of the starts will be Gausman, Manoah or Berrios....a small majority of the time...but still a majority. If you go to a 6 man rotation...it means that the big three only represent 50% of the starters other teams will face. I say go with the odds and stay with a five man rotation as much as you can. IF the Jays decide to go with a 6 man rotation, I think it would be a HUGE mistake.
  8. I don't understand this whole thing about simply throwing his fast ball more. That is not going to fix him. What needs fixing is that his breaking ball does not break and it is an easy pitch to hit. Fix that. His fastball is a pretty good pitch but he does not have the stuff to keep throwing it pitch after pitch without teams sitting on it and hitting it all over the place. Fix his damn breaking ball so it does not look like a batting practice pitch.
  9. I think they are at +1 but yes, it is really fortunate to see that their record appears to be better than their performance. Last year, their incredible run differential was not mirrored in their record and it cost them a playoff spot. Defense/pitching has been the difference this year.
  10. REALLY hope that means that Bo is back. Bo has been hitting the ball hard of late.
  11. Best a bat today: Zimmer getting hit by pitch.
  12. Jays offense as scary as kittens in April and they are starting off May in the same manner.
  13. I know. Every damn time he pitches the Jays bats are cold as ice.
  14. Every pitcher that the Jays has seen when Gausman is the starter looks pretty good.
  15. Jays just refuse to score runs for Gausman.
  16. Gausman has dominated this season and yet he has only one win this year. It would be nice to see the Jays offer up some runs for him in support.
  17. Right now I think the Jays have two aces and could argue that Gausman has been as good as it gets in the entire league...let along the Jays roster. Yes, hoping he continues his complete domination. Both have been incredible and have helped carry the team through a rough April. Offense has to turn the corner and show up today. Today is the day the offense must announce its presence and they are back to business as usual.
