Tkachuk was a gem of the pick and will be their heart and soul for years to come. IIRC that pick was a bit divisive as some felt he didn't have top 5 type skill. Obviously nailed the Stutzle pick as well, I think credit is still due for making proper use of your early picks. I was more referring to the massive steals of Chabot and Batherson, both some of the best value of their draft. TBH I forgot Norris wasn't their pick. Most feel Pinto is looking to a real coup right now as well

Regarding the Sens, they have made a full highlight reel of hilarious blunders, but I actually would say they have drafted really well in recent years. Scouting might be the only department Eugene allows them to spend on. I just don't think some of these consolidated rankings mean a whole heck of a lot this year, these amateur independent scouts were working with a fraction of the information and just flat out didn't see a lot of these kids at all, OHL especially.

To clarify, he had a standout 16 year old season playing Junior B and Junior A, then had signed to play with the OHL Hamilton Bulldogs before the season was cancelled.

Ristolainen always has had intriguing physical attributes and can produce points but I believe his analytics have hovered between bad and horrendous, albeit on a mostly horrible team where he's been utilized far over his head. I don't understand the fit either, you would think they would target a steadying presence to go along with Ellis, Provorov and Sanheim.

Better hope you never hit a dry spell, no way you could afford a hooker. Just so we're all aware, do not make a bet with L54, he'll never have any intention of paying. He owed money for a bet for several months, couldn't afford to pay up. Was pitied and offered the chance to pay in installments but still never forked over a cent. Months later, he got banned for a few days for making a disrespect comment to another poster regarding that person's struggles with their health. The next time he's asked about the bet, now says he's not going to pay because he was banned and has no respect for the forum. Yet he continues to not only post here but try to pass himself as some sort of alpha, when in reality he's a pathetic excuse for a man who couldn't scrape together a few hundred bucks over the course of several months.

It seems like the smart play would be to select 3 or 4 of those highly paid big names for marketing purposes and to take big bite out of their salary floor. Then you're free to fill out the rest with younger upside plays

The best goalies from each AAA loop tend to get picked and from most accounts she was one of the best in the Alliance. Like most late round picks, she's a longshot to actually make the league, but that's fine. Likely on track to play junior and then NCAA
