  1. Just add the ability to decline, like in football.

Meh I think the price tag is pretty indicative of how little he has to offer at this point. Has always been pretty one dimensional but he's no longer overly prolific offensively. I don't think he'd be an improvement for the Leafs, at best you're getting very hollow production and no intangible value.
  3. Three interesting young arms promoted in corresponding moves Sam Robberse HiA -> AA Dahian Santos A -> HiA Irv Carter FCL -> A
  4. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/08/rockies-to-select-wynton-bernard.html 32 years old and he was a 35th round pick ten years ago. Gotta love these stories
  5. It's a very useful site between the stats and prospect content. They should just be a little more selective about who they let on to their writing staff. No doubt that some of their better/more respected prospect guys have rolled an eye or two at their other content.
  6. That's some pretty f***ing awful sports journalism right there, for many reasons.
  7. Exactly that. But if one was deciding to make an assumption, it should have been easier to arrive at the conclusion that vaccines are a firecracker issue upon which Atkins was respectfully going to let Merrifield speak for himself. Declining to comment = completely in the dark was definitely quite the leap haha
  8. His versatility was undoubtedly a huge part of the appeal.
  9. B or B+, some solid upgrades in needed areas and I'm absolutely fine with the cost. Reason to believe guys like Pop and White can produce greater results moving forward with the help of the development/performance team here.
  10. That's the part people have to remember, no one has more info on this guy than the team that just traded him. It's not uncommon at all for an older prospect to dominate A ball and then slam into a wall when they reach the upper minors. Frasso may not see AA until his age 24/25 season, we'll see how it goes. White can be a good RP and decent depth SP today, and has years of control. He may not represent Frasso's ceiling but he's also so very far above Frasso's realistic probable outlook.
  11. Can someone post White's numbers as a reliever?
  12. SP depth but might also be reason to think he can be more impactful in shorter stints. Don't mind this one at all. Frasso seemed like an interesting arm to possibly try and accelerate up to help the pen, but he's also 23 in A ball.
  13. If we are adding a SP, Lopez does seem like the move
  14. Yeah I was thinking more along the lines of guys who could possibly advance to the upper minors this summer and work their way into the mix by next year.
  15. https://www.ncaa.com/news/baseball/article/2022-07-13/12-mlb-draft-prospects-rising-board-after-2022-mens-college-world-series Some college guys trending up after the CWS. I like the idea of pounding the board with top college relievers as some of the under slot picks today. Potentially get some much needed BP help in the near term.

He's pretty terrible, not the kind of guy you want for a playoff push. Some speed and flash to his game but zero substance. You would get more out of giving some hungry young grinder his shot.

I didn't really see the fit in the first place. Between the Hughes bros, Hischier, Bratt etc, they are already built on small skilled types. I just don't think you get far in the playoffs with smurf team.

Getting paid some picks to try Murray at that rate for two years is an exponentially better gamble than paying starter's money to Campbell on a long term deal. Obviously can't say for sure what other options may have been available to them, but out of those two there's no comparison. I feel like I've been dropped into an alternate reality where Campbell isn't a 30 year old career backup with one pro season where he started 40+ games. The insiders saying the Oilers will give him 5×5M?
