I wonder if these "rehab contracts" becoming more common, would give some (good) relievers more comfort taking the biggest one year deal on the table, rather than feeling like they need the security of the biggest guarantee offered.
Can sort of gamble on yourself on a year to year basis and know there's still money out there if you get hurt. Leclerc for example, can make more if he keeps signing one year contracts at 10M, than one would assume he'd get from any multi year deal. But if he gets hurt this year, someone would still give him a Chad Green contract.
