  1. I think those Apps are definitely a huge part of it. The Topps Bunt app lets you collect free digital versions of all Topps/Bowman sets (there's also a pay to play type model like all of these apps of course). I'm pretty sure it's helped turn a whole new generation on to ripping packs.
  2. Well that wasn't fun at all, and then it was
  3. Yeah less of a moneymaker and more of just a hobby with some potential for pay off - not all that different from sports gambling. I like the first Bowman autographs because they are essentially their first (major) autographed cards after turning pro. If the goal is to get in at the ground floor, I like to collect the card that basically introduced the player to the market.
  4. Decided to start dabbling in card collecting, but I don't want to be bothered ripping packs and ending up with tons of cards I'll never do anything with. Instead I've decided to try and "buy low" on exclusive 1st Bowman autographs for prospects who seem interesting but haven't gained any name value yet. Started off with Sam Shaw - 20 year old Jays prospect and Canadian kid who is off to a fantastic start at Dunedin. Bought a somewhat exclusive version (299) of his first Bowman auto.
  5. I didn't hear about Stro losing an eye?
  6. Makes $30M+ per year for the next eight years and is basically refusing to do part of his job, what a world
  7. Jays called up Braydon Fisher, the RHP acquired from the Dodgers last summer for Biggio.
  8. Leading off seems like a far more natural fit than hitting in the middle of the lineup. Clearly more suited for table setting than the cleanup spot.
  9. The second worst team BA in a three game series in franchise history - worst since 1981.
  10. Watching some of the game last night, can clearly see this guy has or has developed the confidence of a star player, carries himself with some swagger
