    Yeah if we lose Morales then he fits just fine. I guess part of that statement also had to do with the direction of the team and him being a DH bat who isn't exactly young.

    Martin, Maile, Smoak, Morales, Gurriel, Travis, Diaz, Drury, Hernandez, Grichuk, Smith, Pompey would give us 12 if Solarte and Granderson get dealt, so I guess Urshela could make sense as the seldom used bench IF.

    I think our best chance at squeezing a high end piece out of these rentals at the deadline probably would have came from packaging Happ + Oh + Solarte, at this point I just can't see it. A team should be able to acquire equivalents to the majority of those pieces without having to go near the Gohara tier of their system.

    Doesn't seem likely that they can free up that much 40 man space or that they'd let us stack up lesser assets for that type of return. I could see AA being the most likely to ignore Stro's struggles and make an aggressive offer.

    If we did happen to remove the two vets from the equation, there would be an opening on the bench and 40 for Urshela to come up and ride the pine as the 25th man.

    Yeah moving one or both of them should open up enough AB's for everyone. It was funny listening to the broadcast last night, Buck was suggesting that a contending team may want Morales for the bench, and Pat seemed like he just couldn't bring himself to say that no one would want him.

    I read through the rules but couldn't find anything to clarify this, although I'm quite hungover ... When are we allowed to expand our MILB list past 12 again?

    Yes I understand that and don't take the word of any one scout or even the general scouting consensus as gospel. Obviously we'll have to agree to disagree if his opinion is based on being higher on McKinney than virtually anyone. It does seem convenient that he's taking that stance on McKinney now rather than having to admit he was overshooting on a projected return for Happ but who am I to judge?

    Ah, I see your going to stick to your side using the argument of your insanely high projection of McKinney that doesn't line up with any current scouting opinions, got it.
