  1. Yeah that's the part I think he's forgetting. The minimal bonus guys are generally going to be college seniors who have a four year degree to fall back on. Their choice is to take a few grand in signing bonus and a small salary in order to keep chasing their dream - or join their graduating peers trying to find a job. Even then they've come out well ahead of most of those peers, not being buried in debt thanks to scholarships. Really no reason to feel sorry for these senior signs at all, they are still in much better standing than your average 22 year old college graduate.
  2. First organization in the big leagues to announce a large (50% +) raise for all minor league players.
  3. I would think we can save enough on rounds three and six to pay for the second rounder.
  4. Really good looking pick for the Astros, they know their pitching.
  5. Groshans would make sense at this point
  6. Robertson was one I mentioned for the previous pick, the panel seems to think it's great value here.

  8. Should tweet this and maybe they'll sponsor the pod
  9. You will always be wrong on Anthony Alford. He's on the 40 man, has had a cup of coffee at the MLB level and still holds a small chance of major league career. Having such a player ranked outside of your organizational top 100 will forever be an egregious omission. Blindly stating that the Jays should use their top 5 picks on pitching is pretty dumb. They should and are using their draft pool and available talent to draft who they feel are the best prospects available at each spot. Obviously they are not completely disregarding bats as no one does that and they were reported to be attached to several. It's all circumstantial, they surely had bats ranked ahead of Manoah who didn't happen to fall. Either way, two very intriguing arms added to the farm.
  10. Just noticed that former Jays prospect Ryan McBroom is having an excellent AAA season https://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=sa738641&position=1B
  11. Andrew Dahlquist seems really interesting on the HS pitching side
  12. If we continue to go pitching, Hunter Brown seems interesting. Mechanics look very free and easy
  13. He'd be a good pick at this point I'd think. Will Robertson seems to have some easy power. At some point we need to take Jake Sandford, tons of pop and comes from the same town as Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon so obviously destined for greatness.
  14. College bat underslot, I'll pick one here shortly
  15. 1pm seems like a late start to day 2, get that s*** moving
  16. I generally prefer drafting bats early but these both seem like very intriguing arms.

  18. Only 20 more picks, it could happen! But yeah I was more thinking of him as a potential Groshans style 1st rounder
  19. There was a HS bat who I asked for a BA report on in the other thread, would have to look. Edit - Gunnar Henderson
  20. They should take your two way guy just to confirm that his first two options are baseball.
