Well of course everyone is different, but it's just common sense that a 18 year getting promoted super early and then doing badly could be negatively affected mentally. TBF we're already seeing a shift in mentality for elite hitting prospects needing less development time.

Biagini was a 25 year old AA pitcher with over 400 minor league innings behind him. Few rule 5 picks stick and it’s more likely that Elvis doesn’t even make it through spring training than he stays on the 25 man for the full season.

FWIW I perceive the regulars in this thread as being more likely to be down on / criticise the Raptors. Bucks for the East IMO. Lowry will go missing in the playoffs.

7/8/9 major league hitters are still significantly better than anything this child has faced before. It would also end the chance of him sticking as a starter. Not good for his future at all, unless he somehow has unprecedented success as an 18 year old with no experience thrown in at MLB level.

It’s not even the roster spot that is the major issue - a year of limited appearances against MLB standard would likely f*** up his development.

Yeah exactly. Worst case for not trading Sanchez - he continues to get injured, or sucks, turn him into a reliever and trade him next year. -

He doesn’t even need to pitch particularly well to increase his value, he basically hasn’t played injury free for 2 years and his value is very low right now. -

Sanchez would be worth more nearer to this season’s trade deadline if he pitches relatively well the first few months, with arguably the same true for Stroman too. Trading either now is selling low unless some team makes a crazy offer.
