  1. As bad as the lineup is, it's not even the worst we've put out this week.
  2. Every other team has won at least 3 in a row.
  3. In the first 3 games of the series in Colorado, the Nats have 30 runs, 36 hits, and Turner, Harper, Zimmerman and Murphy are now hitting between .326 and .432. Trea Turner alone has 8 hits in the series. Man how I'd love us to have a series at Coors Field to wake up our bats!
  4. Mets batting isn't very good, and their starting pitchers have nearly all had injury problems in the recent past. I can easily see them being a Thor/deGrom/Harvey injury away from being sellers at the deadline.
  5. And there's nothing wrong by the way with enjoying what they would term the pure side of the game - different people like baseball for different reasons.
  6. For a lot of "casual" fans, advanced stats and number crunching are boring turn offs. They want to watch homeruns and 100mph pitches. A lot of those people have no interest in trying to understand how someone can do those things.
  7. I get what you're trying to say, but I doubt even Spanky would describe himself as level headed! He'll defend the Jays to the end, but he'll also have regular drunken meltdowns.
  8. At what point do we consider Pearce to be a bust? He looks absolutely lost and once you're in Gibby's bad books it's hard for him to ever trust you. I really hope he turns it around soon as I thought he'd be a big part of staying competitive this season and next. Only Travis has been as disappointing IMO, but at least Travis has shown a glimmer of hope in his last few appearances. Salty I had no expectations of, and Bautista (while still underperforming) isn't as big a disappointment in part because he's unlikely to be here next year, and he wasn't great last year.
  9. TBF I believe one of the reasons o2 was picked as a mod was that he is based outside of Canada so is more likely to be online at different times. So in theory o2 can deal with spam / trolls etc when another mod may not be logging on for hours.
  10. Swanson was only drafted 2 years ago, so that seems a sensible approach.
  11. We are, Nolasco has been pushed back to Thursday.
  12. Did you think the Shelby Miller trade couldn't get any worse?
  13. Nolasco was originally scheduled to pitch tomorrow with Chavez today, but both were pushed back after Chavez appeared as a reliever.
  14. Optimism - I remember that feeling! The Angels are not a good team, and they've got Jesse Chavez starting tomorrow. Time to start the first winning streak of the season!
  15. Wow now that's something you don't see every day
  16. Kevin Pillar is our best positional player sans JD(?)
  17. Nice, man if Travis starts hitting this lineup looks so much better.
  18. Stroman efficient so far, only 60 pitches
  19. The umpire only calls time after Stroman has already let go of the ball
  20. Just watched Messi score with the last kick of the game to win the Barcelona Real Madrid game 3-2. Now switching to this game for some more top class sport from the Jays..... oh only 3 hits so far? We still suck then!
  21. That 3 pointer could be the shot that seals it.
