Montoyo is not going to be here to decide the future of Borucki so who gives a f*** what he thinks. The fact that the Jays have elected to use him in short stints and have tried to keep
Kay and Hatch more streched out is pretty telling where he is in the pecking order. Hes more of the 8th or 9th starting option then he is the 6th or next in line guy as your suggesting. Most failed starters wanted to keep starting. Borucki telling the media he wants to start doesn’t mean anything. We see this thing all the time. Most of time the guy stays in the bullpen because going back and fourth has actually ruined guys careers. Nobody is saying Borucki can’t start but with his injury history and his ceiling suggest he is probably the most valuable in his current role. I just don’t think streching him out makes sense with the other options in place. Ofcourse his velocity has ticked up across the board. That is common. Hes not throwing 96 MPH as a starter. I don’t see Borucki as #3 or better starter. Hes at best a good back of the rotation starter. I would rather have an excellent reliever in that scenario.
