If the Yankees win. We pretty much have to run the table to make the playoffs. At the minimum win 5/6. Unless the Red Sox full on callapse that includes losses to Baltimore and Washington. We would have to sweep the Yankees to catch them for sure.
You are high off your ass if you think Vlad is the clear front runner for MVP. I know some of the biggest Jays homers imaginable that wouldn’t take on this ridiculous arguement. An arguement that you have taken the L on several times in this thread alone.
Vlad would have been in the conversation had he won the Triple Crown. Keywords in the conversation. But its possible he might not finish first in any of those categories barring a pretty big week. RBI’s is already out of reach. And for all the talk about Ohtani’s team missing the playoffs it’s far from sure thing Vlad’s will. And if they do it could be over in one game which has no barring on the regular season anyway.
What Ohtani is doing is insane. Vlad although impressive his season isn’t something we haven’t seen before. And you could argue Semien has been just as valuable. Vlad might not be the MVP of his own team.
If our starter can get us into the 6th with the lead I feel pretty good. But once you have to use more than Richards, Cimber, Mayza, and Romano things get dicey.
I think they can unload Grichuk on Colorado or something. Eat most of the money. Rockies can sell their fan base on him running into 30 homeruns. They are going to lose Story and I would imagine Blackmon will ask out of town. And quite frankly they should trade him and try to get some value out of his cheap manageable options. He’s also 35.
Yea it definitely depends on how the inning unfolds. They can be aggressive with Romano with the off-day tomorow. And if we’re going to be a playoff team he’s going to have to get use to a bigger work load. The add on run was huge.
Yea I think he keeps Cimber in for Polanco and Donaldson for sure. Wonder if he would f*** around with a lefty vs Kepler or just go straight to Romano.
Cimber’s K rate has climbed since becoming a Blue Jay. I feel like they have encouraged him to throw high in the zone and its not traditional for that pitching style to go up there on purpose. Hes been fantastic and we still have 3 years of control. They gave up nothing for him. They basically just ate the remainder of Dickerson’s money.
