Part of me wishes they never rushed the rebuilding stage of the Blue Jays. When both Bo and Vlad hit the ground running in the big leagues it really became win now again quickly. It would have been nice if they took another couple years to build a young nucleus of players instead of signing Springer and Ryu and really pushing the win now window. But a lot of things got f***ed when they held onto players way to long and ultimately got nothing for the players from the 2016-17 playoff teams. It just feels were heading towards the direction of a complete teardown anyway. But instead of having a bunch of young players to surround a core of Bo and Vlad those are ultimately the guys that will be moved out for the next wave. Which unfortunately doesn't really exist right now. There's no real help on the way for this current roster. And the options to trade for more of it is fairly limited. They can continue to buy it but eventually they have to resign guys. And if Bo is not someone they can get under an extension by next Spring I think they have to trade him. Can't really afford to keep getting no value for your best players. And you don't want to wait until his free agent year because his value would be very different.
