  1. How far away is JoJo Parker realistically? Would be something if he absoloutely destroys the minors and he can come up here sooner than later
  2. Decent enough for opening day. It'll look much different come July than come August. Garcia, Bieber, Yesavage and Berrios all on IL to start too. Miles will for sure end up being designated sooner than later... as early as guys start coming off IL. I would've preferred we gave Seabold a shot...
  3. I agree on Seabold he looks very promising. They need to give him a shot in my opinion Miles and Bastardo if they like them, send them back and try to work out a trade for them. Im sure Giants/Red Soxs probably dont want those 2 guys on their 40 man
  4. Im personally over the Davis Schneider excitement Rather Jimenez or Kasevich make the team... better D, better base running, better flexibility Jimenez is a career .393 OBP in minors and has shown a good eye in limited mlb time Kasevich is unknown and thats excited Schneider is what he is. Send Schneider down. Roll with Okomoto in LF vs LHP, slide Ernie to 3B and put Jimenez/Kasevich at 2B. As of now we need a much better LH bench bat than Schneider. That should be a priority acquisition throughout the year
  5. If the goal is too have flexibility and have a 26 man roster that you can plug and play for match up purposes i dont see how you can carry Schneider, Lukas and Straw on the bench and not Jimenez. Gimenez and Clement are our only SS options and Clement is our starting 2B. Only other guy that can play MIF is Davis and thats 2B. I think we'd have better flexibility to keep Jimenez so vs LHP he can play SS or 2B and get another righty bat. Too many lefties right now in Varsho, Barger, Lukes, Gimenez, Sanchez and none of them are good vs LHP
  6. Lots of free agents guy available but fit seems a challenge However do you guys think Nathaniel Lowe is washed up or could he bounce back? I think he could be had for really cheap If jays trade a positional player for RP he'd be a guy i wouldnt mind the jays taking a cheap flyer on Springer/Santander probably wont play a full season so having Lowe on the bench as a lefty bat could be a good thing. Injuries will also certainly happen Its also crazy to see Suarez coming off a 49 HR season still on the market and hard not to want to kinda see jays add a 49 HR bat
  7. Good for Bo But considering hes not a power bat, avg defense and his up and downs over the years I think its good we didnt sign him to such a contract.
  8. That is just incredibly stupid Mlbs gotta do something about improving the competitive balance of the sports. Not sure what the solution is but theyll need to figure it out
  9. If Mets offer Tucker 5 / 250 thats nuts. Full mode desperation move too. Can't be mad if tucker isnt a jay with that offer on the table
  10. If Mets really did offer 50M per year than I dont see how Tucker can say no. I dont Bo is coming back or he would've resigned by now if he was Im prepared for both to sign elsewhere and if they do I hope the jays can still pick up some guys and hopefully on the cheap Id target some more RP and one guy I think can have a huge impact on this team is Luis Arraez His batting profile would fit admirably with this team and with our positional flexibility I think we can mask his defensive inneficiencies The jays took it old school last year by going for contact and discipline over the long bomb and it was a successful recipe. Not many guys out there that are better than Luis at putting bat to ball. If hes willing to take a 8M / 1 or contract and accept a platoon role he could be big for this team.
  11. If we can get both Bo and Tucker at the expense of dumping Santander and Berrios to the Mets id do it. No questions asked Springer - DH Tucker - LF Vladdy - 1B Bo - 2B Barger - RF Kirk - C Varsho - CF Clement - 3B Gimenez - SS Schneider, Straw, France, Heiny Trade Lukes
  12. Taylor Ward whom they got from the angels If Gunner gets back into form they could have the best offense in the league with a heart of the line up of Gunner, Hard, Alonso thats 120 HR potential there. Holiday, Westburg, Mayo, Rutschman are not bad either and Holiday/Westburg could put it all together any year now and start becoming 30 HR guys too. AL east just got.tougher
  13. I highly doubt that Even from a finance perspective its better to get 300M in 10 years rather than 320 over 12. Invest the difference 3M in annual salary (30M vs 27M) minus tax and you'll come out ahead
  14. You most likely are right. Im just trying to temper my expectation. Generally the teams with the "best anything" tag in the offseason doesn't end materializing, unless its defense. That's the beauty of baseball its so unpredictable. I'll feel better about it in May once Gausman shows no drop in velocity or stuff entering his age 35 season and Bieber showing he's healthy That's really my concern that if Biebs and Gausman are not on it next year, than we'd have to rely heavily on 2 guys (Ponce and Yesavage) that haven't proven themselves over a course of a full season in the MLB which is a grind and takes a toll on pitchers
  15. Either you really know your s*** and you've worked in baseball/scouting in some sort of capacity, or your full of s***. Dont mean that in a bad way just that how did you even come up with this? Im honestly curious and intrigued to learn about your background
  16. I wasn't referring to Ponces contract. I agree its a contract they can move off if they want I meant the whole rotation is high risk high reward
  17. Yeah we do need one more big move for the offense Springer had an unreal season and likely wont be able to replicate it. If you lose Bo on top of that the offense will take a big hit Gotta bring Bo back or bring Tucker in at least IMO
  18. Its high risk high reward if you ask me. Could be one of the best rotations of the decade or quarter century. Could also tank though. Ponce and Yesavage have great stuff but, still gotta prove themselves over a full year. Bieber hope he's healthy and Gausman lets hope father time doesn't catch up. That being said im super stoked for this rotation lol. But above question marks makes me thing they wont trade Berrios and maybe we enter the season with 7 legit SP options so we can keep depth/flexibiloty
  19. Yeah he possibly could but don't know man these guys seem pretty tight. If any 2 players would take a discount id bet on bassit and scherzer especially after scherzers comments that came out today
  20. Scherzer said he has unfinished business and believe Bassit too among those lines If both would resign on a 1 year 5M contract would you trade Berrios for his equivalent position player or reliever and go with Cease Gausman Bieber Yesavage Bassit Scherzer Lauer ?
  21. Id rather spend the money on Bo than Marte. Losing that kind of player/prospect depth will hurt
  22. Way to canadinize our rotation. Sounds like a hockey team haha
  23. To the folks following minor leagues more closely. What's the book on Bloss right now? Im hoping Ricky T becomes an option for us this year ... workload will be a concern Gage Stanifer finished at AA and if he continues to strike guys out at a ridiculous 14k/9 IP pace maybe he becomes a late season option like Yesavage Hoping Francis can rebound too and be a dependable #6 guy, long arm We have some potential in the wings!
