    You're right its not mandatory but minor league season ends earlier than majors so would be beneficial for jays to get him pitching all the way to end of September to build back up. 1 or 2 more stars or an extra 5-10 IP this year can make a huge difference for next year I hope jays clinch division soon so they can use the last week of the season to give guys rest and give some innings/AB to guys like Manoah

    Not if he's going to perform like he did this year but he's shown flashes this year offensively. Lots of injuries. Defense is elite so I have faith for next few seasons lets see!

    Have to move 3 off the roster once playoff starts no? Heiny, Straw, Babe are a lock for the bench 3 of Lukes, Loperfido, IKF, France gotta go. It'll be tough decisions especially when you consider match ups.

    for those curious magic number (reference vs. Rangers) for Jays to clinch a playoff spot is 8. A combination of any 8 jay wins / rangers loses, out of 31 total games.

    Manoah too, the Jays have to find a way to get him some MLB innings this year. Not saying he needs to be on the playoff roster but, getting him some innings at the majors would be huge for his recovery for next year. We only have Gausman and Berries locked in for next year. We could really use Yasavage and Manoah to take the next step and be rotation options for us next year.

    i'm game to give Yasavage a few innings in the majors. Kid deserves it and some players are simply made to be in the bright lights. Yasavage seems like that kind of guy.

    id rather them still be in the race. Teams playing for nothing are usually the dangerous ones

    i agree it feels a lot closer. Jays still need to play 0.500 ball but if we can go 10 - 7 (including todays game), Yankees would have to go 14-3 and Soxs 13-2 This team is gotta dig in and get it done!

    2024 i agree with you on Springer but, 2023 he was ok. I dunno though, feels like George Springer signing here is what Toronto on the map with free agents. Don't think we'd have Gausman if springer draft. The indirect benefits that Springer brought to this organization are understated if you ask me.

    If jays win today, if they can just go .500 rest of season after today, than for Yankees or Red Soxs would have to go Yankees - 13 - 4 Red Soxs - 12 - 3 to overtake us in the division as we owe the tie breaker Red Soxs and Yankees are facing each other for 3 games starting tomorrow, hoping for a 2-1 series (no sweeps). I feel pretty good about our chances of winning the division, going 13-4 / 12-3 is no easy feet even if Yankees/Red Sox schedule is soft down the stretch.

    Toss up in my opinion with Springer. I feel Springer brings more behind the scenes.

    about time Davis gets some love. It's odd though to see a line up card without neither of Ernie or France in there... can't wait for Santandar to be back... imagine replacing Lukes with a healthy and hopefully locked in Santander in that line up.

    i'd be 100% on board for Jays to sign him and put him on 40-man roster out of BP especially with expanded rosters in September. if you can fix him than bring him on the playoff team. the guy is a gamer.

    Astros are the biggest surprise for me. Got shutout 4 out of the last 5 games I think theyre gonna miss the playoffs if you ask me. Red sons Yankees and one of Cleveland or royals might get the last WC spot with Mariners getting the west

    Yeah but how incr3dible is that on the day that two of the best pitchers of their generation (Randy and Maddox) were supposed to face each other. Last minute change had rookie Scherzer and Kershaw face each other... who become of the best pitchers of their generation

    it's fascinating considering no Blue Jay has more than 18 HR's and we're into August. Shatkins is trying to be a trend setter. Most similar team offensive profile would be of those of Tampa Bay's run of 2015-2022'ish.

    The compatability and flexibility of this team is quite a beauty Really does seem that, no matter when or where, we always have an answer by having a platoon line up and pinch hit options. The defensive flexibility of our roster could very well be one of the best of all time. We have 10 guys that are CONTRIBUTING that can play at least 3 positions competently. That's nuts

    He was a beast. Pops seems to be working some magic this year with hitters We're top 5 or around there in runs scored this year which i found very surprising

    Buddy is gone once Gimenez is back most likely Friday Who's gone when Springers back though? It'll be one of lukes, loperfido, France or Straw Tough decision. Might be loperfido just because of options even though he's the guy that probably should get most of the ABs out of that group of 4 If Santander is back we'll potentially have to part with 2 of the 4. Been a while since we've had this kind of depth!
