It's ******** in one of two ways. 1. Was he really offered more money/more term? I'm skeptical. I don't think he was. But for arguments sake, let's say he did turn down more money and/or more term elsewhere. That gets me to ******** #2. 2. We all heard LOUD AND CLEAR, during last years Spring Training what Jose thought about Home Town discounts. He already gave the organization a home town discount and was crystal clear in the fact that there was going to be no more home town discount being given. So the decision we have to make i this... Was Jose really offered a better deal and turned it down? If so, then he's full of s*** for puffing his chest and saying no home town discount. Take your pick.

Westbrook's ego is his biggest weakness. Every pro athlete has to have some ego. That's a given. But Westbrook takes it to a different level. He's like Bautista, but much worse.

He said that he he suffered a shoulder injury in 2015 that hampered his ability to throw in 2016. He also said that they've seen him in the off-season and were pleased with what they saw, or something to that effect...but no, he didn't specifically say anything like Bautista being 100% or anything like that. Just that they were excited about having him in RF.

We both know that's not true at all. How many times have we seen owners interfere and force the GM's hand. Happens all the time. Not saying it did here, but to discount that it's a possibility isn't right. Ed Rogers is the same guy that went behind Beeston's back to try to get info on Kenny Williams from Beeton's buddy Reinsdorf, and it blew up in his face. There is a history of stupid behavior so it's not out of the realm of possibility that Rogers swooped in and said, 'Bring Bautista back. That's an order.'

The game of hockey and the point system are two separate things. You don't watch hockey "because it's stupid" is kind of a stupid comment. If they were to change the point system to something not so "stupid" by your logic, you'd start watching. But how does that actually change the game on the ice....you know, the part that we actually watch? If you don't like the sport itself, that's fine...I can respect that, but to call an entire sport stupid because you don't like 2 points for a win, 1 point for an OT or Shootout loss and 0 points for a regulation loss is kind of dumb.

I'm still not convinved that Gibby won't leave Bautista exactly where he is (RF), but I'm hopeful that he and Jose can both be convinced that him at 1B is the right move.

If this is true I hope Jose plays with a bigger chip on his shoulder than he usually does and shows everyone that he's still the player that he thinks he is.
