Is it though? Wouldn't it logically make more sense if the 2020 campaign (season, pre-season, post-season, off-season) conclude with the end of the world series? I look at it as this off-season being pre-work to prepare for the 2021 pre-season. I know it's all semantics...

They were worse last year than their championship season. They're worse this year than last. They are trending in the wrong direction. I don't see a quick turnaround. And as I've said before, and not many want to believe it, they're not going to land any big stars to help the turnaround.

I guess we'll find out when Masai needs to s*** of get off the pot with respect to his next contract. But if he feels like he can't convince elite level FA's to sign here, I think there's a very real chance that he takes his talents elsewhere.

Any professional that reaches that level has a massive ego. You don't get to that level without one.

I too think there's a better than 50% chance that Masai bolts. He has a big ego and if staying in Toronto impacts his ability to build multiple championship teams then he'll look to go to a market that is more attractive to FAs. I guess we'll see if they can lure any major stars next offseason.

I'd be pretty surprised if that's the case. I've been a long time critic of Rogers as it pertains to finances...and I started off as a skeptic with Shapiro and Atkins, but have come around on the two. It would be an awful look if there was any truth to that. I took his move to 1B as a result of his poor D at third. Nothing more. But it sounds like he is committed this time to getting in better shape and the hope is that it'll aid his mobility, range, and skills at the hot corner. I still don't see him sticking there, but I'm willing to at least give him spring training to show that he's a changed man.

Is he not playing 3B in the DWL? Kinda hard for him to make the move back if he isn't able to take advantage of every possible opportunity to work on his craft there. That said.....if he is going to play 1B, I want to see how he handles the grounder between 1st and 2nd. That's the benchmark for me.
