Only in Toronto can the media dull a George Springer signing. Yes...Springer is still amazing....but we were convinced that we added another very good bat...giving us a surplus in the OF, that we would leverage into a starter....now we have to back it up...no additional bat...and no obvious plan to get a starter.

Depends on who they're trying to get back. Can't see them getting a major piece using Grichuk as a focal piece...unless they add a significant prospect as well.

It's funny that they feel they need to go through this song and dance. Everyone knows what's happening. I can't see a GM saying "Gosh...you're gonna be down an outfielder now, Russ. Too bad you couldn't get one more signed beyond Springer. I'll guess we'll have to up the ante to pry player X away from you."
