  1. u got the right guy bro?
  2. i give credit to AA for the marlins deal for the fact that he recognized he needed an ace; the fact that JJ time here was spent on the IR, that's just bad luck, part of baseball, blah blah blah; the regret was to make the trade bigger than it needed to be others believe that the "bigger deal" did some good to bring fans in at the time which i don't buy; how long did that last??
  3. Amen! I may be cheering for the Mets but AFAIAC the season is over... onto the off-season
  4. or gave it to holland and he wiped his ass with it
  5. haha it reminds me of what i said at the time; i went with some clients; they were local and they knew i was jays fan; they were asking me how could TO ever let a guy go with this kind of stuff but hey times are different than when he left TO; he was at $2.5M last year; it may be worth the risk
  6. I went to see Morrow @ Petco early in the season. His FB velo was there for sure. They were flashing 97/98 on the scoreboard iirc. The SI looked pretty nasty too...
  7. they are not even close to the bottom - A's and Ray's head the pack http://www.spotrac.com/mlb/payroll/2016/
  8. they are still on the hook for some partials IIRC for hamels... nonetheless, is there another team with less on the books? they've really done a lot to clear everything out
  9. the news coming out consistently is that that's what FO want to do but so far ownership is balking
  10. yeah except that they have a surplus of OF they are paying for - both on their roster and on other team's
  11. and now he can squat over 400lbs
  12. now davidi is saying it http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/davidi-anthopoulos-return-not-necessarily-a-slam-dunk/ and i can see why so many of you have the opinions that you do re wilner "it's not a good idea to bring back the same lineup since they won't have the same success the following year. Look at the Orioles" ... lol
  13. next time give me a holler... i found this group for that series; i typically go to the games with my buddies who are either Angels/baseball fans; i thought it'd be fun to sit with jays fans for once
  14. were you at the Big A when the Jays were in town??
  15. still can't beat the weather but with the budget, the drought, and the traffic which i guess now every major city has, it's not as nice of a place as it used to be... denver, seattle, portland (pacific NW), there's where a lot of SoCal are moving to... just a warning are you also transplanted from TO?
  16. Los Angeles - Around Pasadena area
  17. slightly off topic here but what do you think of Lott's opinion; at a minimum i love the pics he takes and he seems like a genuine fan living in the US, it's harder to get a day-to-day perspective as to what they say on talk shows, etc other than wha'ts available online....
  18. couldn't said it better myself Gov
  19. his steamer numbers http://oi59.tinypic.com/33jgs9c.jpg
  20. that's actually a good way to put it. even just looking at his 2 seasons before his CY and completely throwing out '12, he was much more of a GB, low BB, avg K kind of a pitcher. In the years he's been here, he now seems to be FB, high BB - not a good combination especially if your home park is RC
  21. i agree that @12M for a #4/5, it's a no brainer; but the fact with the Dickster is that when he's bad, you are potentially out of it early; he doesn't give you a chance unless you can mash out 7+ runs or something i'll put it this way - from a dollar and cents, we should bring him back; as a fan, i don't want him
  22. first brunt now zaun ... are these guys really serious that shapiro may let AA walk? i would think it's a done deal...
  23. because u never know what you're going to get with a knuckleball.... other than he'll give you 200+ innings which i tired of hearing...
  24. it's a club option so not the $15M more like $10M and yeah... i'm hoping they pick up the option and try to see if there's a taker for him given his friendly terms
  25. He reeeaaally likes Gibby
