    I agree with what they did this year because he's still under control even after this deal expires. But if they lose both EE and JB, there's no reason why the reigning MVP shouldn't be locked up long term and be the highest paid player. I think yes, more from a fan perspective. It would say "we have the money, we're just smart enough to spend it in the right places."

    They're at worst AAA hitters and he's looking pretty good. At the very least he's showing the things he needs to work on should be figured out at the MLB level. Of course it's only Spring Training, but still.

    Imagine Bautista playing for the Rangers. Suddenly they'd be cool with bat flips. But I like Brinson more than Mazara.

    Also projects Jays RDif to be 31 when it was 221 last year with the same lineup (for only 2.5 months).

    I don't buy those numbers. Jays are going to be better than just 3 games over .500. I would really feel a lot better with another #2 or #3 starter though. Don't have a good feeling about this rotation.

    If either of them acted unprofessional about it, there would be all kinds of magical "leaks" about how Bautista is a locker room cancer. I can't picture Edwin being a problem at all, he's too low key. But it would have too much potential to hurt Bautista's FA value. Plus, if there was that much negativity in the clubhouse, they would likely waive their 10/5 rights. Bautista does a good job of posturing for the media, but ultimately Rogers is still his daddy and they hold the power here, not him.

    Red Sox have a lot of question marks in their lineup though. Better team than last year but mainly due to their improved bullpen and Price. Sandoval showed up to camp looking like a black Staypuff Marshmallow though so, there's that.
