  1. I remember being at the home opener after Shannon was traded to the Twins. Our fans were classless, chanting "Shannon's Mom!!!" over and over again down the left field line. Poor guy, he was a good player for us, he couldn't throw but he did everything else!
  2. Would I be going out on a limb if I assumed the Bisons were outdrawing the Rays this year?
  3. Ok well this is the blue jays message board. It's pretty exciting to be a Jays fan right now and its getting annoying reading about Rays s***, and posts that are basically trolling the Jays. Especially before the trades were made and things weren't looking so great for us. These Rays fans aren't contributing much anymore, they are usually just trying to stir the pot. If this was some random not named BTS he/she would have been labelled a troll and banned for baiting a long time ago.
  4. I think it's hilarious these guys got sick of the Jays losing ways and jumped on the Rays bandwagon a couple years ago. Too little too late. Since then they lost their beloved Friedman, had a tonne of pitchers get injured and are going through a partial rebuild and have no long-term stability as a franchise. Kinda like switching to the Expos a couple years before they relocated - smooth move! Meanwhile the Jays are finally on the cusp and these Rays fans will be on the outside looking in at us as we rejoice. Well done good Sirs! Who the heck switches allegiances anyways?
  5. Then you're back on the bandwagon then? Bandwagoner.
  6. You're a Tampa fan right? Sorry to burst your bubble, but no. They won't be easy to make bud.
  7. Regarding the man in white, which was also mentioned yesterday: Seriously, Manfred needs to step in and say something, like "there's nothing to this" or something. Just because it needs to come from someone up top, to put an end to it. If the Jays were stealing signs guys like VW, Reyes, heck every player who gets traded or DFA'd would be spilling the beans. Also, some of our players have better stats on the road, even last year. Its ********, and players/teams should be fined for such accusations.
  8. She was actually banned from the Jays hotels on the road back in the JPR days. Always trying to f*** the players
  9. I'll be there for sure if it happens. One game playoff versus the Angels, White Sox or Twins? i like our chances, especially if Price is on the mound!
  10. I went to Stroman bobblehead day and we got there 30 mins before gametime and got 4 (took the family) A lot of people lined up at 9:30 for that too but they looked dumb when there still plenty left at 12:30
  11. Not going to jinx anything, so not going to say we are going to make it, but a lot of things are starting to fall in our favour. First off, yes Minny is ahead of us for the 2nd WC spot, and they are probably not favoured to hold on to it. We should be able to pass them if we can stay healthy. Second off, the Angels are falling like a stone. 6 losses in a row, they are only a game ahead of Minny, and having just lost CJ Wilson for the year the outlook isn't the greatest. If they keep falling, we might not even need to pass Minny. Houston will run away with the West now, and a 1 game WC playoff doesn't look as scary with the remaining contenders. Anything can happen, but right now there is a 5 team race as I see it for the 2 WC spots: Us, Minny, Baltimore, White Sox and LAA. Tampa and Detroit were sellers at the deadline and "should" fade out. I can't see Texas hanging in there. The White Sox are creeping back into the race, and they stood pat at the deadline and they scare me a bit. But I think you'd have to think we would be the favorites out of all the teams fighting it out. If can stay in the playoff hunt and keep having playoff atmosphere games like today its going to be a helluva ride from here on out!
  12. WTF leave Osuna in! He didn't pitch yesterday...
  13. The guy we shoulda been hitting is ZOBRIST
  14. Jays should make a phone call to Randy Wolf and tell him thanks to his brother's ********, he'll be rotting in Buffalo the rest of the season NO MATTER WHAT
  15. And if Stroman returns and is in fine form, he's our real #2, bumping the rest back...LOOK OUT!
  16. Madsen again? To face the same guys who lit him up last time? Sweet
  17. Ned Yost makes some terrible decisions I agree, how they hell has he managed to win more of the close games that are required to end up on the + side? Are his teams really just that lucky to outperform their expected W/L with him at the helm? He must be doing some things right that I don't see.
  18. The issues I have with Gibby are bullpen management, calling for bunts sometimes, and who he chooses to put in the lineup on a given day. How he orders the lineup seems for the most part, fine.
  19. The one thing that needed to happen after all these moves was to fire Gibby. When your run differential is +100 and you are .500 its because you are always losing the close games. In a small sample size you could attribute that to luck, but in a large sample size that can be indicative of the manager. Constantly making poor decisions in close games. Gibbons teams going back to his first go around with the Jays have consistently under-performed in this area. Lets look at expected win/loss based on run differential each year starting in his first full year 2005: (Taking over for Tosca he went 20-30 in 2004 but I don't know what his pythag would be for those games...probably better!) 2015: expected win/loss 62-43, actual 53-52 2014: expected win/loss 85-77, actual 83-79 2013: expected win/loss 77-85, actual 74-88 2008: expected win/loss 93-69, actual 86-76 2007: expected win/loss 86-76, actual 83-79 2006: expected win/loss 86-76, actual 87-75 2005: expected win/loss 88-74, actual 80-82 Total expected win/loss% .536 , actual .507 This is terrible in a large sample size. How else to explain this other than he sucks? f*** him he needs to go, if they don't win this year, he's getting canned for sure. If they do make it he's this year's Ned Yost - he'll get a bunch of props for sucking ass.
  20. Tulo just had an offday, it took him an extra day to get here remember?
  21. Apparently just "an offday". Wtf? He just had a day off!
  22. Having Revere means no Pompey everyday which means he likely stays in Buffalo until September
