    Jose Reyes (rib) took a successful round of on-field batting practice on Wednesday afternoon. Though the injured shortstop did acknowledge to reporters that he didn't fully extend his arms for fear of aggravating his cracked rib. Reyes said he plans to push it a little harder on Thursday. He has been on the disabled list since April 27 and probably won't be ready to rejoin Toronto's active roster until late May. Source: John Lott on Twitter May 13 - 4:53 PM

    He had an MRI last weekend which showed considerable healing. There was talk he may go out on a rehab assignment this weekend or early next week. He has resumed some baseball activities.

    I don't think you can predict a young pitcher in 5 years, because of the constant attrition that occurs with pitchers.

    Who's this Sarcasm you speak of? Can he pitch? If he's good I think we should put him on the 40 man and DFA that bum Castro. He has not been very good in AAA at all.

    Now that is a ridiculous statement. Unless you are aware that Syndergaard is ambidextrous and throws well with his left hand. Even if he blew up his elbow, he'd go Micah Owings and play the field. Dude almost hit for the cycle his last game.

    Its funny you mention that. My thoughts were that an injury would be the only way he's not pitching anywhere in 3 years. I think Syndergaard likely will be better than Sanchez.

    Deadpool is right. If Syndergaard is in the Independent League 3 years from now. I agree to literally eat crow.

    Anybody who knows anything about advanced statistics...knows that Earned Run Average is the most important pitcher stat. It is the best example of how "effective" a pitcher is. Well right after pitcher wins. I find myself starting to really look forward to Sanchez's next start. Just for the reaction it will create,either way, on these boards.

    This is what I can't believe. We just keep blowing young depth arms off the 40 man for short term moves. I'm mystified by the moves of the last month.

    So speaking of athlete's who have used cocaine. The best heckle John Lucas said he ever heard, was while he was shooting free throws in a game one time. A fan yelled, "Hey Lucas, don't snort the foul line!"
